Chapter 20 - "Five Years Gone" - Discussion Thread 4/30/07

FREAKING GREAT EPISODE!!! I never really liked Peter but i gotta admit, he was bad ass in this episode. When he freezed time i got goosebumps. Am i the only one that wasn't surprised when Nathan turned out to be Sylar. When Nathan said: "i know how things work" it just made it more obvious.
Overall, this was arguably the best episode so far. Only thing i didn't like was that Niki didn't do anything. I wanted to see Peter use her powers too.

Peter proved he can eventually handle his powers and use them if thats the only option.

to repeat the question, was Peter using Meredith Gordon's powers at the end or Ted's?

Something I just thought of, since Peter in the future knows about the Haitian, and if he finds out about him at any time, then theoretically, shouldn't Peter be able to neutralize Sylar's powers when they confront each other?

That's a good point. Peter also met the Haitian on that rooftop w/ the guy who could disappear. It's odd that the Haitian didn't use his powers then:huh:

Well if being around the Haitian neutralizes powers, how is Peter supposed absorb the Haitians ability if his is being neutralized?

I just watched the ep on Sci-Fi for the second time

Again, ****in awesome. :o:up:

Not necessarily. Both the Petrellis have been able to use their powers when around the Haitian. So has the psychic cop. It seems to be more a battle of wills than anything when it comes to the Haitian.

The Hation can only block mental powers can't he?

even Parkman cut through the Haitian's block to pick "Sylar" from HRG's mind. i think it's safe to say that people have these abilities, but they aren't infallible and don't have them mastered.

Finally watched this one! Its one of my favorites of the season...very Days of Future Past-ish...They could have done a two-parter...I wanna know why and or what deals Parkman and the Haitian made to become agents of evil.
...I happen to think these are pretty easy to follow besides all the stuff we don't know. But...one question...if Future Hiro failed to kill Sylar because he had already gained Claire's healing powers...why then towards the end when he confronted her...did he still need her power? Was some of the future already altered a little? That part lost me a bit...of course...seeing Sylar was a huge shocker...I knew Nathan couldn't be that evil in the future :)
