Chapter 22 - "Landslide" - Discussion Thread 5/14/07

I am wondering why it was that Bennet thought his only way of handling Molly was to kill her, even after he saw she was a child. If he had her in his possession and then ran away with her, why would he have to kill her?

I'm guessing he doesn't want Molly to fall into the wrong hands again,so he goes the drastic route and tries to kill her in order to protect his family and all the other powered beings.

That was a great scene, love all the grey areas these characters get into.

Exactly, maybe Simone was clueless about it and hadn't found out about it before she "died".

Yes, and I don't like it. Just look at the amount of time that passed since she "died".

At least we know from the previews that he doesn't kill her after all, I was just hoping he might not have acted rashly. :)

[BLACKOUT]I knew Linderman would heal Nathans wife[/BLACKOUT]

^^That's a good call because I never saw it coming. :)

howcould he go through years of training if nothing changed at all when he was done?

Well like i said in the post it was implied, yet there was no physical aspect of it, just the emotional one. To reach level on kensei takes a really long time. Just like it said in the previous post, its kind of like in Dragonball Z when Goku trains Gohan in Kami Tower, everything in the tower speeds up in time, usually the only physical change is growth (in Gohan's case). While the world around Kami tower continues in time normally.

Perhaps Hiro's father has a way of mentally projecting the training into Hiro's mind. To Hiro it would seem like he trained, but would account for little to no time passing and no changes(like hair growth).

Sylar was extra juicy in this episode. Every time he was on screen I kept saying "oh Sylar you naughty little imp you" and he was, he's such a cheeky bugger.

Can't wait for the final confrontation and HRG! You cold hearted SOB!

This show had was a great set-up for the finale
loved that Linderman gave Nathan's wife back her legs, that'll probably be the reason he turns back to good. Thought it kinda sucked that Linderman was killed by the lamest character on the show. I was hoping he would stick around, kinda like a Obi-Wan type character for the younger heroes. And Bennett's boss was another good villian that didn't have to go so soon. Hope that they have someone really good next season. it was very cunning of the writers to suggest that Candice's current look wasn't her real self
, never would have thought of that. I did have some questions about this episode though.
1. If they knew that Ted's power was the key, why let him out of their sight and why didn't Peter rescue him?
2. Did Hiro stop/slow time when he was training?
3. Couldn't DL just have made he and jessica/nikki intangible so that the bullet would have passed through both of them?
4. How can Ando and Hiro just walk around New York with huge swords?

Yeah sylar was dirty in this episode it actually pissed me off. Damn thats good stuff. Also on the Hiro training issue I myself am a bit confused as to how he could be come a master swordsman in 2 hours unless something went down during his training. Which I highly doubt. I just hope its explained. It would be really lame if he just mastered it that fast.

good lord...is it next monday already

Bennet...please dont kill molly

Maybe Simone was Candice the whole time.:wow:
I definitely am subscribing to this theory. It makes total sense, so good thinking Speedball :)

Wow. Wow. Wow. From the very cool line they gave Bennett before [BLACKOUT]he shot Thompson[/BLACKOUT], to Mr. Nakamura's ties to the Linderman-Petrelli prehistory, to badass Sylar watching the city he plans to destroy and uttering "Boom," this show just continues to be the best program on television. That's coming from a die-hard LOST fan. I will pretty much ignore the rest of the world next Monday, as my entire life will revolve around the season finale. Of that I'm sure.

The only word I have to describe this episode of Heroes is... JOYGASM!!!

really didn't expect Linderman to die(this early anyway). D.L either.

Though now I'm wondering how he knew they would produce a superchild capable of helping him change the world.

Issac probabley painted it. We know Linderman has been following the Heroes for some time.

I just want one WHOLE hour of a super powered brawl between Sylar and Peter :woot: ................. I know I would watch it.

You are aware there are weapons laws, right?
Are you aware of these "laws"? I don't think you are. Possession is not illegal. Perhaps you are confusing criminal/unlawful intent and concealed weapons laws?

They should've had a cheesey 80's montage song during the Hiro-Kaito sparring scenes.

he's scared ****less of Sylar, remember he said it, "last time we met, he killed me"

maybe candice isnt hot as we think she is..maybe shes hideous looking and this "look" is an illusion. I just got that vibe when she was talking to micah...meh

I'm thinking she exaggerated and is just a little overweight, but is self conscious so she keeps up that thin illusion (more effective than wearing black) :).

i don't think there's any maybe about it. she pretty much came out and said so. she's overweight and had been made fun of for her looks/weight.
