Christopher Robin (aka new Winnie the Pooh movie)

The "originality" argument really doesn't hold much wait. 1. There are VERY few truly original stories left to tell (it's more taking old stories and giving them a new "spin"), and 2. Most of Disney's most acclaimed/iconic works have been adaptations.

That being said, doing Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh in live-action is weird to me. The princess movies, sure I can see that. But these, IDK.

I think the originality argument can be made by smart people. There's too many people who would mention 'originality', just to ride the coattails of much smarter people who can make compelling arguments.

Paddington Bear you randy bastard! :argh:

If Winnie the Pooh is as good as Paddington, then this won't be pointless after all.

it's going to be a very fine line for the animators/designers to make the charm and innocence of the 2d animated designs work as live action/3d ones without them looking creepy

This whole "Hollywood is out of ideas/originality" is a tired complaint. Do your research. There has never really been a point where Hollywood relied on much but adaptions and pandering to make the majority of its money.

I think this is pretty exciting, myself.

Winnie The Pooh, after all, was conceived, not as a cartoon, but as a children's book. If this is a solid adaption of those books...shivers.

I don't know how old they want the adult Christopher Robin , but I would suggest Thomas Sangster in the role.

Benedict Cumberbatch. :o

I remember when I was a kid we didn't get cable tv for few years my aunt who was from Florida and got cable taped us Disney cartoons and cartoon movies one their was a live action Winnie the pooh TV series but it was people dressed up in out fits it was kind of silly I remember watching it when I was a kid.

Perhaps they could go the route of an older Christopher Robin telling the stories to his son. Then the movie ends with the son stumbling into the world or creating new stories with the toys, depending on which route they take.

Winnie the Furry.

OP, your name is the appropriate reaction to this news.

Wasn't pooh bear a soft toy that he just played with and had made up adventures?
