FYI guys:

I've recieved some info from a very generous individual, who told me Cillian is, in fact, in TDK.

He also advised any Irish SHH'ers who live in the Baltimore area to keep an eye on the Mondello race track from Monday onwards.

So this was a miscommunication I suppose...

Cillian Murphy won't be reprising his role as Scarecrow in the next "Batman" movie ("I can't count on that at the moment, I'm afraid," he reported),

Not an outright 'not doing it' but it doesn't look good.

Bloody Hell!!!! This a shocker and a downer and I hope it's just spin. This on top of tonight's origin nonsense has thrown all my hopes for TDK out of the window :(

:csad: Could "count" = a misheard "comment"?

Would Nolan be so sneeky as to not tell his actors they're in the film? :woot: I don't get why he chooses to say so little, maybe Nolan asked him not to. Doesn't look good

Thats makes me a bit sad :(

He should be back for BB3 atleast.

Agreed. Scarecrow is sort of mentioned in TDK (at least, he was in the sides) so we know he's still around...somewhere.

But yeah, I was hoping he would come back.

Oh, I was hoping to see Scarecrow in TDK. His last scene in Batman Begins was so great.

Bummer. I hate it when they replace actors. I was annoyed enough when Maggie replaced Holmes. Well, more annoyed that they didn't completely kill off Dawes, but I digress...

Miranda Fox, I've been out of the loop for some time(a year) and have had to since re-register here, but from my past couple days of observation of these boards, I noticed that you seem to be a big source of info...

Out of curiousity, what's your story?

I don't see anything about replacing Murphy? In all likelyhood, his role was just a cameo.

As for my story...that is tough to describe but I'll give it a go. :)

Awhile back, I discovered some casting sides for a film called Rory's First Kiss (I wonder what that was a codename for? :woot:) on showfax.com. I have a friend who has a login for that site so I asked her to send me them and then posted them on SHH.

Since then, some people have kindly sent me info regarding TDK. :)

what are sides

Pieces of the script given to actors to prepare and audition with. Usually from an early draft.

they didn't say they were replacing him though . . . foolish n00b!! :cmad: :o

I find you saying that rather humorous, considering I've been posting here since 2002. Hence mentioning I had to re-register in that post.

...noob.:oldrazz:

Funny you should ask:

In the beginning, as all internet zombies should know, there were the two greatest men to have ever used the internet. I speak of course of James Woods and Robert Kennedy.

After an eventful night of booze, drugs and woman (only half of which Filipino), RFK was incredibly disheartened to find out he was suppose to be dead. So Woods and Kennedy rushed together to find a way to ensure that their greatness will live on forever.

The first problem they discovered: They were not sexually attracted to each other. Another problem, they were both men, strong, manly men.

So James Woods being the merciless magician he is decided on this: they would make a successor out of clay, which would then be blessed by Woods, Kennedy and Craig T. Nelson - who had just now entered their swingin bachelor pad.

And thus from the clay Miranda Fox came to be.

I like that version. I plan to tell it at dinner parties. :woot:

Ironically in my head it was a much different story involving Zaphod Beeblebrox, Bobo The Detective Chimp and The Reincarnated Head of Hunter Rider sitting at a dinner party. I think this version is much better.

Remember the sides. Rmemeber that character (the "unscrew your brain" one) everyone thought was Scarecrow

Who must that be? Joker? New villain?

thx

I like that Screcrow won't be in this one...you know he'll pop back up and will have some problems with his face because he got some taser hooks in it! My favorite scene in the flick..just unloded some volts. I'm hoping they can keep movies coming out in this cntinuity for the next 20 years...Crane will be back...

This lead me to believe he may make an appearance:

And thanks for the info. I'm mostly caught up on all my hype news that I missed during my sabbatical...

He played it so good, and then had a pretty lame exit at the end, hopefully he comes back some time and can have more screentime and a cool ending.

Man, I'm bummed about this one.

Rachael, they could have wrote off since Kathie wasn't coming back and I wouldn't blink an eye (although I thought she was good in 'Begins') but I thought Cillian Murphy's Johnathan Crane/Scarecrow was one of the Highlights of the whole movie.

He was such a little swarmy punk that you love to hate.

I still cheer when Batman spray his fear gas back on him and he sees him BAtman in his fear induced formed and the reaction murphy had is priceless. :woot:
