The Dark Knight Cillian Murphy in TDK.

This gladdens me. Here's hoping for a more theatrical Scarecrow in TDK!

I really hope that Murhpy is in this one, as I loved the Scarecrow as a character in BB

Not sure about the melted burlap thing. When you get hit with a tazer through your clothes it does not really do much damage to the clothing. It leaves a irritation and small puncture marks on the skin, which usually heal. The voltage is not enough to cause the kind of heat needed to burn.
i'm not sure on the details anymore, but didnt the burlap catch fire? that could leave burn marks on the skin.

As for whether burlap can even melt, I suppose it's plausible, but i've personally never seen electrical current sent through Burlap before so who knows. I thought your tone was a bit aggressive, and for no reason too.
IMO burlap is too dry to melt. It would catch fire, sure, but not melt. Plastic is liquid when heated (it sets when it cools), so it would melt first, and if it had flammable liquid in it, that would probably catch.

IIRC in the movie, the taser darts spark on his masked face but they don't catch fire. You'd probably have to have an actual flame to start it. If anyone here does welding (or has gotten close to someone who's welding) you see the sparks flying everywhere, right? But when those sparks hit your clothing, it's cooled down enough that it doesn't set your clothes on fire. Even I was surprised at how harmless those sparks were, even if they look all dangerous and badass.

ETA: I don't think it's recommended to weld without a face shield or gloves though. When the sparks fly out, they're pretty harmless, but where the metal is actually BEING welded is pretty damn hot and can burn you something nasty.

Damn it pisses me of when people don't recgonise good sense :cwink:. As I said before the best solution would be........

....burlap textured scarring. Subtle, fine criss-crossed burns in twin patches where the taser forks hit. It would actually invoke a real scarecrow, hot electrified burlap leaving a imprint on skin.

Ok, I have already read the thread and don't really see anything about melted burlap, and one can only assume that taking a tazer to the face like that with a burlap sack on your face will have to do something. Granted it might not melt (which is why I put it into parentheses in the first place) onto the face, but it's going to have some effect for sure. As for whether burlap can even melt, I suppose it's plausible, but i've personally never seen electrical current sent through Burlap before so who knows. Sorry about the tone I didn't mean to be aggressive. It just gets me when threads seem to go in circles and many had already pointed out that burlap won't fuse or melt. :hyper:

I hope to god it is true about Cillian and Scarecrows return for TDK because to see both Scarecrow and Joker in the same movie would just be a dream for me.
Scarecrow needs to be in it i think, cos when you consider all the trouble he caused in the first film (it was his fear gas that did all that damage and the fact he nearly killed batman and rachel) then just dissapears and we never hear from him again. True it would be a wise move on his part to lay low but its just a loose end that i'm sure Nolan wouldn't want to leave just hanging.

As far as welding goes, if you look directly into the flame while welding you could temporary loose your vision or go blind. The sparks hurt alot. And the welding process is extremely hot. Very dangerous buisness.

I absolutely loved Cillian's Scarecrow, and hope he makes a return too. But not TOO great a role. Nolan certainly balanced the villains brilliantly between Ra's and Scarecrow in BB (along with Falcone, Flass and others). So I'm sure he'll know how to utilize Scarecrow without diverting too much attention from Joker (and Batman himself).

Kind of wish Crane was still sane so we could get a diagnosis of Joker from him. Maybe someone else will try that when he's locked up

Cillian Murphy is the best thing about Batman Begins IMO. I knew nothing about him before the film and I just think his skills really stand out. I didn't have a clue he was Irish (until i saw his name!).

Props to whoever wrote his lines, probably the best dialogue for any character in the film.

I really hope he does return.

I wonder if Nolan and company will take anything from the Joker/Scarecrow team-up in Knightfall?

Oh! Maybe they'll kidnap the mayor, and Scarecrow sprays the Mayor with fear gas, and THAT'S who sees the Joker during the big fear gas scene!

Joker ain't teaming up with Scarecrow in TDK ain't gonna happen. SC will have a tiny role in TDK.

So now we may have to get a recast on Scarecrow as well...

*sigh*

Loved the job Cillian did as Scarecrow. Hope he's back at least once before this trilogy is done. :)
