Clark not flying..Its just getting stupid....

QFT

Pat always gets the post out there before i'm finished =(
ROFL!! Were you just putting a list together too? Did I miss any? Those eps were off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more.

Yah, I was. You covered the main ones I was going to mention, mainly Insurgence, Hidden, Reckoning, and Crimson.

Insurgence is one that leaps out my mind the most.

1)In that episode where he stoped the nuke by jumping up and disarming it ..how did he get back down to earth ;)

2)I think it's simple why he doesn't fly ..it's too expensive. Now it might have gotten cheaper as new techniques have been implemented thus why we have seen Kara fly lately. Before they would have had to use it sparingly between eps and when they did'nt have him fly people would be like ''oh why did'nt he just fly like he did last episode''.

Now if you want to get scientfic why can Superman fly ?What makes him fly ?

Strength comes naturally he just lift's something and relizes he is strong.
Speed again he runs normal next thing he is moving very quickly
invulnerability It's just there he puts his hand in a shedder and nothing happen's
X=Ray vision Suddenly effected him and he had to learn to control it..after having a look in the girls locker room..well done ;)
Heat VisionSuddenly happpened when he got horny and had to learn to controlit
Super hearing Manifested it self when he was blinded

Flying he is going to have to learn it wont just happen.

That all said I would like to see him fly at some point

Did you ever watch "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman"? That show had a budget that was less than Smallville. With a smaller budget, that show showed us a flying Superman, who had all of his powers depicted somewhat accurately. Smallville, is origin-story show that has more funding; And since they are showing the development of Clark's powers, they have the luxury of saving CG costs by showing less of his powers (at least that was the case when the show first started). But the show has been on for quite some time now. They have even showed us some of the Justice League members. As far as Clark's powers go, what they have showed us so far is disappointing to say the very least. Every now and then they show some hints of Clark 'floating' or trying out his powers to keep us happy; But you have to ask yourself 'what the heck are they doing?'. They have destroyed the shows potential. At least that's the case through my eyes. A decent show would have shown us Clark's development both through his powers and his relationship with others. Unfortunately this show has focused too much on the latter, and has therefore become a lame soap opera, with hints here and there of a Superman-in-the-making laced into the show. It's a damn shame.

whoa... hang on... have -you- watched Lois and Clark? the effects in that show were terrible. Dean Cain was just pulled around with wires, didn't even look like flying.

As for Smallville, they show Clark's powers consistently (other than flight). I mean all the friggin time. They don't show 'Clark trying out his powers' They've shown him actively using Super Speed, Strength, X-Ray vision, Heat Vision, Super Hearing, and to a lesser extent super breath, to save people all the time. The only power he doesn't know how to completely control, is flight.

It honestly sounds like you stopped watching in season one.

And you know what? I enjoyed that show waay more than Smallville. But yeah, the bulk of my beef is with Clark not flying, I don't really mind the rest. It seems as though they are saving it for the series finale. LOL

Pound for pound, I think if folks were to compare the two shows they'd find SV has more effects than L&C ever had and they're twice as well done.

And Clark will fly this season, so please, for the love of Pete, just be patient TBadora, mkay?

I find it ironic that you enjoyed Lois and Clark, Which was openly a romantic comedy, yet you call Smallville (and action adventure show) a "lame soap opera". Strange.

Lois and Clark was a pretty good show, at times. If you're remembering it entirely with nostalgic eyes, I suggest re watching it. It might put things into perspective for you.

There was a deleted scene for Fallout where Clark said that he went down to Australia to find Raya. I wonder how he got there? That's one BIG superjump. :woot:

.... Super speed? He's been known to run from one side of the planet to others within seconds, so i'm guessing he can run on water :ninja:

It's not a question of will he fly. It's a question of why hasn't he? Don't you get it? I'm p!ssed because they have held it back so long.

A romantic comedy? What show were you watching?

That truly is a shame. Perhaps you need some anger management classes?
Something that trivial certainly isn't worth getting worked up about. Especially considering a scenario has never come up where he would possibly need to fly.

I'm not that worked up about anything. I'm just voicing my opinion. If it helps you sleep at night you can replace the word p!ssed with upset.

Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. You know, that series from 1993, that followed the exploits of Clark Kent trying to win over Lois Lane.

The primary story was the aforementioned love story, with a random occurrence of Superman at the end of every episode to save Lois from whatever stupid trouble she got herself in that week.

In the DVD extras of season one, Deborah Joy LeVine describes the difficulties of working the Superman property into their Romantic Comedy.

Why? You ask why? Why does the phone always ring when you're in the bathtub? Why does the world's greatest genius surround himself with nincompoops?

Answer: Because that's the way this show is written. You can either enjoy it or not. It's your choice. :)

To make himself look smarter.

Meh. I don't care how much you people argue with me. The point of the fact is that the show could have been done better. If it was, I, along with many others, would have still been a fan.

Oh for cryin' out loud - now you're not a fan because the show could have done better? Why are you even posting here? Seriously?

Put me down for the pro-flight vote... we need flight, and we need it bad...
