Vin Diesel acts well enough for me to believe it's a character I'm watching. That's good enough for me.

I haven't seen the original...yet. Which is why I have it now on my PC. I hope to watch it sometime soon so that I can have a better idea of what they're going for in this remake.

I remember when they promoted The Chronicles of Riddick as "Star Wars' Evil Twin" lol

Knowing Hollywood they would've either casted Jason Statham or if they wanted a poor man's Harry Hamlin, they would've gotten somebody like Orlando Bloom.
I'm sorry, but i had to laugh at this :hehe:

Silly, posters. You don't need to be able to act to star in an action flick.

You sure do if you're gonna star in a superhero movie(and have it be one of the good ones at least). But I guess that would go to support my theory that superhero movies aren't true action films but rather character dramas or dramedies that simply happen to have a lot of action in them as an accent rather than it being the main draw.

Yeah, every genre requires a certain kind of actor to work. Not every actor can talk about repulsor rays and atomic bombardment and not sound stupid.

Sam Worthington, I think, can only really play a good, old "All-American" type of character(ironic I know). I just get this weird feeling that he doesn't so much change into a character as just brings a likeability to the role.

For CotT, that's probably all that will be required. But considering that he's lobbying hard for the Cap role, I'm not sure CA doesn't need more than Worthington's got in the character/acting deptartment.

I didn't know Worthington wants to be Captain America.

Worthington never lobbied for the Cap role. He wore an Avengers T-Shirt because he likes the Avengers and said he would love to play Cap. But he also resigned himself to the fact that he won't play Cap. He's just a comic book fan.

It would be pretty flippin' sad if we had to cast an Austrailian to play Captain America.

It would be even sadder if they got that particular aussie because he can't make up a decent American accent.

Yea well, most young American actors at the moment are just pretty boys or bad boys who don't really have much acting ability.

Do you know Sam Worthington or something?

I wasn't insulting Aussies actors (unlike you who are obviously insulting American actors)I was insulting Sam Worthington. A boring uselss very goodlooking actor.

I'm open to having my mind changed about him at any time but right now the hype for him is as unwarranted as the hype for Megan Fox.

Huh? There was no offense taken or intended. Just pointing out a fact. There is very few young American actors who are actually decent at the moment.

If you haven't seen the original, I highly recommend it. Of course some of the FX are laughable compared to today's bloated CGI, but there is a certain charm about it, especially the Kraken. The story holds up pretty well though, and it's a great Saturday matinee popcorn flick.

Fun fact: Ray Harryhausen, the man who did the special effects for Clash of the Titans (and others), is one of the greatest stop-motion animators of all time. I had the amazing pleasure of meeting this man, and got his autograph. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Well, off the top of my head...

Michael Pitt
Chris Pine
Zachary Quinto
Joseph Gordon Levitt
Patrick Wilson
Bradley Cooper
Ryan Phillipe
Tobey Maguire
Garrett Hedlund
Elijah Wood
Jake Gyllenhaal

But yeah, America is a talent-free zone. Let's keep casting actors as Americans who think an American accent sounds similar to Czech accent.
