There was plenty of good stuff in TIH so I guess a lot of people were going to judge his credentials after seeing this. From the sound of it the answer is going to be a no, but I'll hold off on judgement till I see Clash (hopefully tomorrow).

You know what got me? When the **** did Perseus lose Medusa's head during the Kraken sequence? All of a sudden I see Perseus chasing after a harpie that has her head???

I saw it happen but during the chase I was thinking how easy it would of been for the harpie to just toss the head into the water. It would of been near impossible to get it out of the water without getting crushed by the Krakken.

This movie was pretty terrible. 3D was terrible.

Seriously though, I meant the plot of the one that came out. They packed too much of that. THAT SPECIFIC story should have been dragged out longer.

I dont mind that they didnt stay true to the first film because...well...the first film didnt stay true to the legends.

However, here's my thoughts.

On the plus side, the girls were gorgeous.

On the negative side:

IO should not have been in this movie. When you have a beautiful damsel in distress as the main issue in your movie, SHE IS THE LOVE INTEREST. Instead, they left Andromeda as a non-character and spent valuable time developing another character, who I still dont understand. If she was unable to die, why was she killed so easily?

The characters were all just cardboard cut-outs. No one had any real depth or gave any reason why I should care about them, including the main character in the film.

Zeus was a mess. He was out to kill the humans, but then he helped Perseus gain the weapon to save the humans, then he gave the order to kill the humans. What????

Medusa was raped by a god, and then cursed by another god when she prayed for help. Why wouldn't she just volunteer to help the good guys defeat the gods? What would be her reason for NOT attacking the gods???

Those sand people...what exactly were they? They seemed to have magical powers...enough to tame the scorpions that were essentially a part of Hades (like the Kraken). Why didnt they just tame the Kraken? And why is it that even after they left, regular humans were able to ride the scorpions around like pets?? They were possessed by Hades!!!! These people could cure mysteriously appearing venom from the gods that infected Perseus. Why were they such cowards that didnt bother to go after the gods at all?

The story was rushed, not bothering to actually give us any depth or explanations as it moved from one action scene to another. Unfortunately, the main action scenes were remakes of a movie we'd already seen, so those seemed anti-climactic, especially since we didnt care about anyone involved. As a result, the movie felt loooong.

I cant imagine seeing this in 3D. The action scenes were already a bunch of quick cuts and at times it wasnt clear exactly what was happening, or when it happened (such as the bag being taken from Perseus...count me among those who never saw that happen).

In short, this movie is a collection of non-characters, doing poorly shot action with bad CGI in a quest that has no impact or emotion. Just a complete dud.

Something that was super idiotic is when Beast Man's hand was cut off and started to move around. They never showed it again? WTF!?

the original probably would have been bigger if it didnt come out the same weekend as a little film called Raiders of the Lost Ark
