Sorry I haven't gotten the chance to talk about my feelings on the trailer, but it looks like my fears have been squashed for now. This looks a LOT better than the last movie, even though I enjoyed it, **** 3-D conversion aside. And I'm actually pleased to see the actual Titans of Greek mythology be the main threat this time instead of them just being briefly mentioned like in the last movie (and, for the record, no, the Krakken is NOT one of the Titans; he's just a monster in Greek mythology)!

I'm still iffy on it...my biggest problem with the first one was that everythign was too easy. Even the action scenes seemed effortless for the main hero. The trailers for the second film don't make me think this will be different.

The Krakken is not even from greek myths.

This movie is also getting a ****** 3D conversion by the way.

Variety said that the sequel was made in 3D, not last-minute converted like the original. Any sources that say otherwise?

For people doubting that Javier Navarrete is still scoring the movie, the film's official site credits and the cardboard displays state he is.

man, so Marylin Manson isnt doing the score as per the trailer?(heh)

epic fail on that trailer, although certainly an effect laden flick.

Manson scoring a movie like this makes no sense to me anyway.

LOL at "conceived in 3D." Another cute way of saying converted.

I saw it. Movie looks better than the first.

Seriously? Comic Book Movies is censored now? Wow.

Anyway, there's nine new pictures of the movie there. Can't post 'em here until another site publishes them.

From what I recall, the director said that the studio really wanted the film to be 3d. The director spoke with 3d experts and tested some footage filmed in 3d. He ultimately decided to convert, because he preferred the look of film over digital. He's trying to have the best of both worlds. I respect that.

3D-Conversion is what you make it. If you do a crappy job, it will look crappy. If you do a good job, it will look good. The fact that he schooled himself in 3D and is filming the movie with that end result in mind points to it being a good conversion. I'm not worried about it.

The movie looks good, or in least entertaining, unfortunatelly what doesn't make me have great hopes of the movies is that the director is just a Michael Bay wanna be, his movies weren't very good and seemed very derivate from other big budget films

I saw Poseidon's trident being used, but what was Worthington carrying at the end of the trailer when he was on Pegasus? Was that... lightning?

It might be a stupid gripe, but Worthington's hair in this movie and Man on a Ledge just bothers me. He looks like Hasselhoff.

Oh, crap. Some brilliant studio exec is probably reading this right now and is about to call Sam and offer him the lead in a Knight Rider remake.

And you know Worthington would do it, too

WB was always going to release this movie in 3-d. Though they did "convince" Liebesmann to convert the movie . It's no secret that converting a movie is much cheaper then shooting a movie in 3-d.
While Liebesmaan did contact James Cameron in order to get "schooled in 3-d " i'm surprised that someone like Cameron didn't tell him that in order to convert something you really need alot of time.
http://www.techradar.com/news/home-...titanic-3d-conversion-is-mind-numbing-1023781
Cameron is doing one of the most extensive 2D to 3D conversions ever on the movie, spending a year finessing the footage at a cost of $18 million.

Speaking to TechRadar he revealed that the process, of which he is nearly halfway through, has been nothing short of exhaustive.

"I really don't enjoy the process," Cameron explained. "While Vince [Pace, cinematographer] and I sit gleefully watching 3D images being shot, a conversion is the exact opposite.

"It is a mind numbing process of creating depth subjectively. It is as simple as 'this person is bigger than that person, they therefore must be closer put them here'. It is an endless discussion with the artists."

By the time he'll be finished converting Titanic , Cameron will have spend 60 weeks .
Granted Cameron sets incredible high standards for himself when it comes to visuals but even so , i doubt that even with conversions getting better , it'll be on par with native 3-d.
Not to mention the fact that theaters themselves also must support the format. I've read news reports of certain movies released in 3d and IMAX 3-d with th IMAX 3-d release just being superior because theaters just refused to ramp up the brightness levels or simply not projecting the image properly.

it looks better than the first piece of crap

Opinions will always vary though i have to admit that 'the first movie has turned into a sort of guilty pleasure of mine ever since they've been showing it on cable here in holland.
It's by no means an atrocious trainwreck and quite eintertaining. THe fact that i had to A) pay an expensive IMAX ticket at the time and B) see it in craptacular 3-d , made hate the first movie.

Remove the bad 3-d and it's actuallu a fun movie.

In order to destroy the Titans, Perseus apparently has to create an "Über-Weapon" that concentrates the powers of the Gods, which is probably the reason why Poseidon's son Argenor and Hephaestus join him. So I'm guessing it's the weapon he's holding while riding Pegasus.
