Saw this last night and well.. this movie was horrible.

I went into this moving expecting (and hoping) this would be better than the first. I mean the first was not overly great but it was good for passing the time.

First, the editing is horrible in this film, very noticeable even in the first 5 minutes of this movie, just the way it "jumped" from scene to scene, it was not fluid (kinda hard to explain, like going from point A to C and not including B.. like they cut it out to save on time).. that's when I first got a uh oh in my head.

The next is a mix of Plot/script. The actual script is bad, just the way characters interacted with each other and what they said was just play bad and unbelievable.

Now the acting.. need I really comment on this? Even those who can act, had such bad material to work with it just ended up being bad anyways.

The effects were good.

I think this movie would have been better if the first one did not happen because it asks you to forget about things that happened.

It's interesting how Perseus went from a more or less Normal guy in the first to a guy who can get bashed through stone pillars, have his head knocked through a stone table and dust it all off.. ya I know son of a God But consistency is a good thing too.

[BLACKOUT]BTW I guess Perseus no longer cares that Hades killed his parents and tried to off him as well. And Zeus is all forgiving to Hades for trying to kill him and Hades is all forgiving to Zeus for banishing him (all just like that...) [/BLACKOUT]

For myself I have to put the first one above this in as far a actual script/acting and even plot. (and yes that is not saying much)

^Forgiveness was handed out like nothing in this movie.

Spoilers.

Seeing Worthington emotion the pain of having to fight someone he knew he couldn't beat and in front of his son was very strong. Movie need more of that. It echos louder than any pixel fight.

...especially another 1 minute flyby super weapon vs giant monster battle...can't believe they did it again...I just can't.

Tell me about it. Cronus and especially the Kraken was the epitome of anti-climatic.

I did like the first one better although Rosamund Pike was so hot in this. I grew sick of Perseus, and that's not good considering he's supposed to be the hero. All that "half-God" stuff, and I never actually got a sense he was one.

It was kind of cool that Bill Nighy got to say "Release the Kraken" twice in his career.

Don't tell me... one bolt of lightning kills Cronus? Please don't say that.

Yes and No. I don't see how people could possibly see it as anti-climatic.

There is an epic war sequence when it's taking place. Zeus and Hades team up to fight Cronus while Perseus struggles to fly pegasus to get a good shot.

So, while technically - yes - there is A LOT going on.

Though it was a little more original how he used it as opposed to how you figured he might.

I wouldn't call it epic. We only got a few shots of Zeus and Hades teaming up to fight. And Kronos didn't even walk a few steps. It was identical to the ending with the Kraken.

Man I wanna see it just to see how the direction by Liesbman was..

Saw it yesterday .
Not that much of an improvement over the first one but at least i wasn't bored.
Saw it in IMAX 3-d and while the 3-d is a (huge) improvement of the first one whcih lets face was rushed , it didn't add much in terms of visuals.
The scenes lacked depth and there was only a couple of scenes where i genuinely felt that i was watching a 3-d movie. As much as i was let down by John Carter , at least that movie had good 3-d ( even though it was converted).
As for the sequel , i'm very curious where they wanna take it this time around. THis series has been planned as a trilogy so i really wanna want to know where they they want take the storylinr further considering
that most of the gods are dead .

Slightly more then the Kraken did though i do agree that i had expected a bigger fight scene

It does make one wonder why they cant come up with a better script .

The visual effects and 3D are flawless.I loved the romp with the Cyclopes in the woods, and
Kronos was the most impressive of the Titans.Just wish there was more of him!!
The script is no match for the effects, nothing is explained. There is such a ho hum, laid back
approach that i didnt find myself emotionally tied to any of the characters.Although i did find Toby Kebbell amusing as Poseidons's demigod son Agenor .
Rent it when it hits DVD for the visual effects
Scale of 1-10 a 6½

That and the mythical beast are the only thing that interest me about this movie and the former is more of a curiosity thing seeing as he's directing TMNT. I did enjoy Battle L.A for what it was, I thought it was a decent alien/action flick that could have been a lot worse.

Liesbman is a terrible director and is officially a hack in my eyes. The movie is better than the first movie because it isn't as mind numbingly boring but it still isn't good. Yes it has purty monsters and some of the action is decent but overall it's still not a good film. I certainly hope that this is the last one because next to Transformers this has to be one of the worst and most pointless franchises around.

Wrath of the Titains is a 4.5 or a 5 out of 10 at best. The first is like a 2 so yeah, that is an upgrade I guess.

Liked:

- Io being killed off. I never liked her character so good riddance.

- The fight with the Chimera (although I think this was done as somewhat of an homage to Dioskilos from the original film). Great way to open the film!

- The Cyclopses.

- Ares being the villain instead of Hades. Makes more sense that the God Of War is the antogonist instead of the God of The Underworld.

- Rosemund Pike being Andromeda. Usually, I hate it when roles are recasted, but this was for the better plus I think they did it intentionally since she was closer to how Judi Bowker looked.

- Kronos was awesome!

- Perseus kissing Andromeda. If there's going to be a 3rd film, I demand they get together like how they were supposed to at the end of the first film!

Didn't like:

- Seeing Bubo again. His cameo in the first film was good enough. Why bother showing him again if he wasn't going to be used?!!

- Bill Nighy was great, but he needed more screentime.

- The labyrinth scene was cool to see, but it was just CGI filler.

- The Minotaur. Seriously, what is so hard about putting a creature on the screen that has the HEAD of a bull and the body of a man?

I'm expecting this:
pixgal1

And I get this sh** instead:

- Zeus dying. It was a ballsy move, but they left it open for a sequel and it would fu**ing suck if Liam Neeson didn't come back somehow.

Overall, it was good, but not as good as the previous movie IMO.

Yeah, he's dipping his toes in the Hack Pool. You can see Ratner dog paddling at the shallow end and turns to Liesbman. "Hey Johnny, join the fun. The water is waiting' for you!"

resident evil says hi

i got a free ticket so i had to see just how big of a hack Liesbman is. i bow down to him.
every shot and i meean every shot in this movie was filmed as fast and as cheap as possible . and he used all the default hollywood setups.any wide shots ? or a close up shot where you can see both character talking? no. this is a rushed production and the there is no money. so lets shoot all today and not the whole week. i am not one of those who thinks that a director needs to make the movie as expensive as possible. but there are techniques and preparation for you to create art cheaper. this was crossing the line. every action shot was also as shaky as possible to hide the small budget. sphhh i spit on you.

i understand that after battle:LA he needed to direct a movie that was a sure hit. so why the f... are you now working with Bay on alien turtles? this was now the chance to make a smaller personal movie or a low budget scifi movie with a deeper story and r rating. but no. lets find a new dumb pointless big budget action movie. TMNT. a hack....... Liesbman is.

After leading for two consecutive weeks, Wrath of the Titans fell to fourth place with an estimated $15.3 million from 63 markets. The movie's total reached $187.1 million, and with its only remaining major market (Japan) opening on Saturday, Wrath has absolutely zero chance of coming anywhere close to matching its predecessor's $330 million overseas total.

Even with IMAX screens and 3-d , this one just won't match the first movie in terms of BO performance. I've seen Wrth of the Titans and while it just isn't as atrocious as people make it out to be, i didn't think it was too much of an improvement over the first movie .
Especially with the ending , i doubt we'll be the seeing the planned 3rd movie.

Yeah they won't make a third movie. This one didn't do too well.

I just think that Hunger Games couldn't be stopped and the first 'Clash' left such a bad taste in people's collective mouths that they didn't even bother with the sequel. That's why even I was like "Why are they even moving on with a sequel?"
