My friend works at a video store, so he gets to watch all the new releases early. So he brings them over, & we have sort of a movie night.

Anywho watched the Cloverfield DVD last night. & I gotta tell ya this movie does not transfer well to the small screen. While in the theatre I found the movie to be intense, & awesome.

I was actually bored to tears by it on the small screen. It doesn't have the same intensity.

Funny, cause watching it on my TV had just about the same effect, if not more so because I wasn't with a group of strangers/******s yelling throughout the movie. Then again, I have a 72 inch TV as well.

Why do they have different editions at different stores. That's just annoying. We don't even HAVE Target in Canada?

Something to keep in mind is that these "bonus DVDs" that are sold at different stores are in cardboard sleeves that are just shrink-wrapped onto the outside of the DVD case. The actual DVD material inside the case is the same at Target, Best Buy, WalMart or whatever. These extra discs do have bonus material of course, but it's not like you're getting a different DVD edition of the film by buying at Target vs Best Buy.

Thanks for the tip. You might have just saved me $25.

Pick it up for yourself, if you listen to what everyone says about movies all the time, how are you going to know what you'll like yourself? I know that I'm going to pick up this DVD and I'll still like it.

Avy I made,if anyone wants it

It says it's not a valid image file.

Sorry if this seems a bit off topic but do you have any Alien or Predator avvys? If so, just PM them to me.

I got the dvd early today. I watched it. Good sound and pciture.

They kinda skipped out on ths features. theres 2 20 some minute features then a few other short ones. plus a blooper reel and deleted scenes and alternative endings.

I feel a double dip in the future.

I was surprised they started filming in june and only took 34 days to film. then edit and do everything else you do for a movie in such a short time.

Guess you have to be small-minded,like me :woot:

I just don't want to invest in a film that doesn't convert well to TV. It makes sense that Cloverfield would only kick ass on the big screen.

I highly doubt I'll buy the film. Definetley rent it though. Just to watch it with the use of a pause button. That'll be interesting.

i have a movie pass so yea im going to rent it too and probably watch it with my parents

im gonna buy it, put it on surround sound on my 40 incher and watch it over and over and over.

I didn't have any qualms with the way the movie was filmed and I certainly didn't feel sick or dizzy.
