Okay, I'm positively intrigued after reading about this film a little bit this morning. A Godzilla-sized monster wreaking havoc on New York with handheld footage? Count me in. If they managed to take the concept of "The Host" (best monster movie I've seen in a very, very long time, btw) and evolve it and make something unique here, I'd be stoked. That would be much better than a straight remake of the Korean film, which couldn't really be topped, IMHO. Now I have something else to look forward to when I go see Transformers.

This could be very interesting. I'm surprised that they aren't releasing this online or even saying that they are aware of it.... That alone will ramp up the hype about this.

I like the idea of the whole movie being Handheld DV cameras and a monster movie in this style... Wicked.

That's the first thing I thought of when I heard they wanted to make an American remake. The bitersweet ending of the Korean version makes the whole film really work but I just can't see an American film company resisting the urge to make a shiny, happy everybody survives and is in love with each other kind of ending.

The Host is really a great movie. I shed a tear hearing it was being remade by the US though.
