I love how the photos on the site were taken 35 minutes apart...how a night cna change so quickly :)

JJ works in tv and may be a friend of somebody on the show, its not a movie of the show just an injoke that may prove to lead us to the actual plot...cthulu. :o

Exactly...there was a article a few pages back about filming in LA and how the fake name of the film was some drink some buy on Alias always drank, I think it was Slushy but im not sure.

There is a new site but I think it's fake. The pictures don't look like the same quality. http://www.betweenthestars.com/1-18-08.html

Yah that's fake, just look at the main site. Funny pic though, I'm sure there'll be a lot of parodies popping up.

If they go with the angle of shooting this movie from the prospective of the guy holding the camera, then a 30 million dollar budget is reasonable, because this guy isn't going to go after the money shot of trying to get the beast on camera, he's going to be hiding and probably trying to escape New York, so I imagine we'll just be seeing small glimpses of the beast throughout the movie and maybe at the very end, we'll see a big shot of the monster towering over some buildings as they leave the city. Of course, that is assuming we're dealing with a monster at all.

I know I'm late on this BUT:

1) Yay I finally completed all the puzzles.

2) How oh how can you think this is a Voltron film? Explain to me your thought process? My god. Explosions are tearing up the city, people in danger, debris flying everywhere, then the Statue of Liberty's head lands in the street. Not to mention the Godzilla like scream.

And yet people(here, AICN) are convinced this is Voltron? To all you who think it's Voltron...you fail at the internet.

I don't think it's Voltron..... But I wonder if it's really what they say. It being a parasite.

The teaser trailer for Cloverfield made its way onto YouTube the other day, but as quickly as the videos went up, Paramount cried copyright infringement and forced the popular video site to take down any and all references to the film. I won’t post it here, because I’d rather avoid a nasty letter from Paramount’s lawyers, but you can still find a bootlegged version of the trailer with a quick Google Video search.

Clearly though, Paramount is trying to maintain a strict level of secrecy regarding the latest project from Lost creator J.J. Abrams. After all, the best way to pique someone’s interest is to tell them they can’t see something. And Abrams is no stranger to using inventive marketing ploys to capture viewer interest, having deployed the tactic more than once with his hit show Lost.

Further fueling the fire that this merely a planned viral media campaign is that the blog world seems to have significantly more information than the trades. According to Hollywood Reporter, even the development of the film was shrouded in secrecy, as no scripts were sent out to agents; their clients were merely asked if they wanted in or not. Very cool stuff.

What we do know is that the mystery film revolves around a monster attack in New York City (the trailer shows an explosion by the Empire State Building, along with the severed head of the Statue of Liberty), as experienced through the eyes of a small group of friends. Matt Reeves (Felicity) will be directing a script penned by Lost’s Drew Goddard.

Whatever it turns out to be, Paramount and J.J. Abrams have piqued my interest, so expect more info on Cloverfield to come your way as we get it. In the meantime, check out SlashFilm.com for an in-depth analysis of the trailer.

They fail at basic deductive reasoning and observation skills long before failing at the Internet. :wow:

The majority of the people here who are saying it's Voltron are doing so cause it drives everyone else up a ****ing wall.

Well Voltron DOES have lions, and we all know the guy in the teaser says he sees a lion. A huge one, in fact. :D

True true, but I was actually reading the AICN TB...shudders...and yeah, people seem to believe.

"Because his friend is going to Japan....VOLTRON IS FROM JAPAN!!"

"Why would he call it a lion if it isn't VOLTRON!!!1"

Haha, well we're of a higher quality here. :o

Actually it's funny, I've been looking around at some other big forums and some of them are still stuck on the puzzles.

This movie has me hyped. I just looked up some info on it, and what we know is very intriguing. The Parasite? A resistance video claiming that a man named Ethan Haas was "right"? An attack on New York realistically filmed, and with J.J. Abrams at the helm? The trailer was creepy enough, but just thinking about the potential gives me chills. Even if this does draw elements off of The Host, this movie looks like it will be original in every sense of the word. I can literally feel it. That Paramount is so secretive makes me even moreso intrigued.

it's shadow of colossus!

at first I thought the movie is based on the end of the world according to the Mayan Prophecy but then I saw the date 1-18-08 which discards that idea.

How do we know this thing isn't a totally original concept?
