Some of the wittings found talk of the old gods and the letterings used in the puzzles. Ethan Haas was a character in a show that was into Chtulu. In some interviews JJ Abrams has said he loved the works of Lovecraft. Just some things that could be loosely connected.

So I went over to unfiction.com, and guess what was uncovered? If you look at the last sphere in the puzzles on ethanhaaswasright.com you can see the phrase ckrox. If you type in www.ckrox.com into your address bar a pretty trippy site arises. It has 'more to come soon' written in various places. And this is what happens if you get a response from Van Mantra, the man in the viral videos:

If it's fake, it sure is thorough. This guy has the alphabetical symbols in the background, has a blog that isn't open until August 1st...I don't know. It could be a clever ruse, or the real deal. The only thing that throws me off is the YouTube embed...I doubt Paramount would endorse someone who ripped it off of them, but since they left it there on YouTube...maybe...? Oh, this is all so confusing.
