That Slusho site is sort of disturbing. The history uses warm fuzzy speech to talk about what is essentially death and tragedy, and I can't get past the fact that their mascots are smiling their way right through this.

Oh, and for the last time- as someone who has the trailer, he says "I saw it! It's alive! It's huge!" The next person who talks about this being Voltron deserves what Kratos did to Zeus in God of War 2. Thank you.

Do we even know if "Cloverfield" is an official name?

Where did the "cloverfield" name come from? Because all I personally know is that it's an untitled movie coming out on 1-18-08.

I believe Cloverfield is the name of the street in LA that Abrams production office is on. I dont believe the name has anything to do with the movie.

God I hope so. Really, it's the best way to go because on a $30 million budget, whatever we get would probably be disappointing.
True dat. And I'll be fine w/o seeing 'it' so long as the suspense is sustained.

A few others have mentioned similarities to The Blair Witch Project... a film that I really enjoyed. I think a big part of what made that one work for me is that it was consistently tense and left A LOT to the imagination. That, and the performances were pretty convincing.

I also think that it's pretty doubtful we're going to even see the monster completely in the film on a $30 mil budget. It'll probably only be completely seen for a few meager screens.

Omgz Itz Teh Voltron Movie!!!

I Heared Him Said "it's A Lion, And It's Giganamous!!!"

Pluz I Seened A Lion In His Eyez!!!

I heard "It's a lion"

We shall see if it is really Voltron.

IF it is Voltron, then Paramount really likes movies with huge robots!!!

I think Paramount can't get enough after Transfomers...!!!

Steve

30...million...dollars. "It's." "Alive."

I'm all for optimism, but this is becoming redundant. It's only going to piss off the fans more when this ends up being an original film.

I was kidding, and yeah you're right...

But honestly I did hear "it's a lion", AND "it's alive".. (Saw Transformers twice..) so idk what to think.

so idk what to think.

That's exactly what makes this movie so interesting- that none of us really even know so much as a plot point or title.

We need a Gundam movie. Live action.

Amen to that, brother. I'll pass away a happy man if I see a live action version of Mobile Suit Gundam or Endless Waltz.

BTW, they did do a live-action movie a while back. It just never got a wide release. It's called G-Saviour.

"And now... now we can tell you who is directing the film. It’s amazing to me how secretive this one is. Personally, I think it sounds great, and all the stuff I’ve heard about the script and the designs for the monster and the work they’ve been doing on the Paramount lot and over at the offices on Cloverfield (the reason for the fake title, no doubt) makes me think this is going to be one groovy movie."

Please listennnnnnnnnnuh

See, now people are just doing this to be stupid.

For f**ks sake..
IT'S NOT A VOLTRON MOVIE.

Also, i'm curious as to what those Ethan Haas websites are for if they have nothing to do with the movie, as they deal with the end of the world and such.

Let people believe what they want about the movie seeing as how the movie has no title or no real plot, that´s the whole fun and mystery about the movie at the moment letting everyone share their crazy ideas on what it could be about and all

I WOULD laugh my ass off if it DID end up being a Voltron movie though. :D Just because I've always wanted something like that to happen. Lead the public one way then make a sharp left turn and shock em. Like having the entire cast of LOTR eaten to death at the end of Return Of The King or having a breakdance off or something.

In fact this should be marketed as this big, original, independent monster movie only to have Voltron fly in out of nowhere and save the day just to piss people off.

Yeah you're right Bauer. Let's all share our correct crazy ideas about how this isn't Voltron.

I don't want to see some shoddy monster made from a 30mil budget, but I do want to see a glimspe of it...

Have the camcorder zoom on the monster who is standing behind a large smoke cloud from all the destruction. You only see a pair of eyes and a rough outline. When the monster moves towards the camera, the man holding it begins to run and the camera goes to his feet and you see him running in the opposite direction.

Why does any of this prevent a Lovecraftian tale? If anything, the Slusho website seems to make it more likely with the underwater discoveries. That is, if the Slusho website has anything to do with the movie. The trailer itself doesn't prevent it from being Cthulu, the Sphinx, or some other ancient terror.

Haha I know where you´re going with your sarcasm but I don´t believe it´s Voltron anyways, my money is on some original movie

Thank you for saying that. At least you aren't automatically going back to defending that view with one little piece of dialogue delivered by some guy crapping his pants as he runs away. And the fact we don't have a clue what those 'roar'/moaning/loud noises were.
