Constantine General Discussion Thread - Part 1

But wait: 'Constantine' is being shopped to another network (perhaps The CW)

Meh I think it's all over. I don't believe it will go to another network. It sucks of course because I thought the show had gotten pretty good and had potential to get even better.

Poor David Goyer, his bad luck with network shows continues.

Unfortunately I think your right. Sigh, it seems the only shows that ever get saved by other networks are ones I never have any interest in. :csad:

**** news, but not unexpected. I Would love to see it get picked up elsewhere but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Hopefully this isn't the last we see of Matt Ryan as John Constantine. Should give him an arc on Legends of Tomorrow at some point.

**** NBC and no to it going to the CW.

Besides, a friend on Twitter said Fox might looking into it

I seriously doubt any network/cable channel is going to pick this up.

Our best bet is an online platform, but this is a very expensive show, so it's not looking good.

Hulu or Yahoo?

Possibly... CW Seed could also be another alternative if WB can find a way to keep the costs down.

WB may even try to strike a deal with Amazon Studios. They seem focused on original content, but it's always worth a try.

FOX has Lucifer series going on there. Maybe a double header with Constantine?

Of course! I keep sleeping on Amazon. They'd make a fine counter reaction to Marvel on the Netflix front

Amazon
HBO
Syfy

I think these would be the best places for it to go.

Regarding NBC & the other 4, I'll just come right out and say it: Broadcast TV wont be around for long. The continuing oversaturation of Dick Wolf, Shonda Rimes, Jerry Bruckheimer, Greg Berlanti, Chuck Lorre, and a sea of reality shows will be all five networks' undoing to where streaming services will reign supreme in the next 40 years. The Nielsen system's only speeding up their demise as well as the system itself

I know some people are hoping the CW will save it but I don't see it happening plus I just don't think it would be a good fit at all. Now something like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, Cinemax, TNT or even SyFy I could see working out quite well, somewhere that gives them more freedom to be able to reach it's full potential.

I just hope someone picks it up, but I am not getting my hopes up as this very rarely happens with shows I like!

Ugh, anyone but Fox. I cannot stand anything they do anymore and their treatment of decent tv shows is atrocious.

I'm still wondering why network TV doesn't improve when they see The Walking Dead getting 16 million viewers, Game of Thrones getting 7 million (not counting On Demand and Go), and Sons of Anarchy getting 5 million. Quit being so safe, the times have changed. "Let's order another Katherine Heigl show!"

The only people I know with Cable tv are either 60+ or have it as part of a bundle with their internet/phone. Everyone else just watches online.

The stations need to bump up their act or they'll keep dropping customers because there's fewer ads and a wider variety of entertainment online.

I have cable television but I rarely actually use it.

Pretty cool of Amell.
