Constantine General Discussion Thread - Part 1

Holy crap, just finally finished the first series, would be a crime if this show didn't continue now, did not see that ending coming!

With an already jam-packed schedule, I don't know where The CW would fit Constantine if they were to pick it up. I'm also not sure the "Flarrow"-verse needs more content, what with 5 shows already occupying or set to be occupying it.

Especially when John has nothing to do with fraternizing with capes save for Corrigan and the Stranger when most of that is Swamp Thing's bag.

Entertainment Weekly recently went on record stating that they were flat-out told by Greg Berlanti that Supergirl is part of the Flarrow-verse, so Yes.

I heard Berlanti made it part of deal with CBS that Supergirl be part of exsisting TV DC universe of arrow, flash, and legends.

I still wonder if a super hero show can survive on CBS.Constantine couldn't survive on NBC.

I'll take the CW if it mean a season 2.

Jim Corrigan in Spectre mode this lot won't know what's coming.:sly:

After the Flash the first time around and the ill faited JLA pilot, I'll say no.

Those shows are 18-25 years old. They have literally nothing to do with CBS as it currently exists.

They're about as relevant to Supergirl's prospects as Birds of Prey was to Arrow or Flash.

Question is: which dying show will they sacrifice to take in Constantine. SPN is still going and TVD is basically hopping on one leg now that Nina Dobrev's jumped ship

Again I use the quote: "Nobody asked you Patrice!"

That is why I am skeptical Supergirl can survive on network of csi,Ncis, and
survivor.

Let's remember smallville lasted 5 years on CW despite network not promating it much except maybe first year.

I could never see the flash the most popular of the DC shows this past year
surviving on CBS.Especilly with a heavy serialized elements.

even if the CW doesn't pick up Constantine they may try to work COnstantine into the CWDC Universe.

They really should axe VD.Shows without original stars rarely survive.Plus VD's ratings are not once it once was.Flash, arrow, and Izombie are all beating it now.

SPN most likely will keep going till the leads finally quit.

Considering how Dawn Ostroff wanted the network to be a Broadcast Network version of Lifetime and purging the sitcoms from the network entirely, its no secret other execs and the ratings balked back at Ostroff hence why Smallville and SPN stayed afloaft

Same goes for The Game. Ever since BET picked up from the CW scrapyard the shift in tone and format changed and not for the better. Even without Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Pooch Hall it became the ultimate "now it would be wise to end it" kind of programme.

Re: SPN- yes. One can easily say the same about Bones on Fox too.

On Twitter, a close contact did say, Syfy would look into taking the show in of the CW discussions dont go beyond just that.

It still amages me how much Gossip girl was pushed and how smallville which untill it was banished to fridays for Vampire diaries was highest rated show on CW and even then smallville was still doing better than gossip girl and other non-thursday shows.Smallville survived losing Michael Rosenbaum and Kristin Kreuk and was still doing well on thursday during season 8

Ostroff has to be one of the most dumb TV Execs ever.

Classic example i always use is X-files.Once fans knew David DUchovney was gone entirely ratings dropped bad. Many were willing to stick with him part time during season 8.

SPN and bones seem to go on forever.

I don't know if Syfy of today taking constantine would be good or bad.

Which is a complete 180 from her time with UPN before the merge and she had no qualms about Veronica Mars until the merge happened

Its good because they're no strangers to TV-14 shows that act more T.V.- MA. Plus the ratings arent that far off from Z Nation's.

Im pushing for others on Twitter to call up FX to get them to be interested

Actully Gotham would have been better on FX than Fox.You would have less episodes and time to focus better.

The Americans is goings into season 4 despite not having great ratings even though it's great show.Plus on FX you can push sex and violence a bit more than network TV.
