Well, for those of you that read my recent post about my hospitalization know that I have Graves disease. I saw an endocrinologist roughly a week ago, and as it turns out I have a second autoimmune disease as well. It's a form of alopecia which is essentially nothing more then small little bald spots that appear and regrow periodically, most barely noticeable. The thing is, I know they're there, and thats enough to bug the **** out of me. Should I just git rid of it or should I simply ignore or does anyone have any third suggestions? Also, anyone who does shave their head, any advice, ideas of what I can expect, horror stories, etc.? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. :)

Just do what you feel will work best for you and suit your personal lifestyle and tastes.

Shave it...its a lot easier to maintain and you get to see if you have a weird shaped head or not.

go for a crew cut or some ****, id leave it and let it be. but if u want cut it.

and srry bout ur diseases.

Haha. The crew cut would still pose the same problem because the one spot that I have is on the crown of my head.

And thanks......

Aww, thanks bud! If I do I'm just gonna have to let me facial hair grow wild to compensate.

Nah.

Shave your head, slick-like, buy some nice suits, and order people around!

And when you see people wearing anything Superman related.. SMACK 'EM!

Well, for me, I shave my head clean almost on a weekly basis. It's out of neccessity, 'cause I've been going bald for about two years now, the sad part being, I'm on 26. It still sucks, but I'm fine with it now, and I just do a Mr. Clean on the regular. It ain't no thang for brothas to rock a clean-shaven head. Just gotta have some form of facial hair for balance.

Go for it. It's gotta be hotter than hell down there anyway. That's what I think. :)

I hope you're feeling better anywho, patchiness aside.

It hasn't been bad at all yet. As far as how I'm feeling, ask me at the end of the summer. :p

Well... I suppose it's all relative. It's 84 here right now and it feels just about sweltering.

Let's list some of the pros of shaving your head:

1. Enhanced evaporative cooling of your cranial region (cooler).
2. Bare spots become inconsequential.
3. Bed head... unpossible
4. No more hair in your eyes.

Cons...
1. Sun.Block.
2. Your fiancé will have no hair to play with
3. The whole being a white bald guy thing. It's not real common for young guys.
4. Skinheads.

Food for thought?

It'll grow back eventually so give it a try when you've got some time off work/school etc. It normally looks better on people with naturally thicker hair, an evenly shaped skull and darker skin tone.

Bald Is SEXY!!!!! unles you have a ugly skull shape...

But yes Bald means meaner and tougther ( or so i veen told... I have medium-to-be-long hair...)

I used to shave my head a few years ago. I say try it out, and if you don't like it, then grow it back.

And if you do, here are just a few things I noticed when I had my head shaved that you can prepare for.

A wind is either awesome or deadly. A nice breeze in the summer feels absolutely amazing on a shaved head, but obviously a cold wind in teh winte sucks hard. Buy some hats.

Also, your head will be pale as hell most likely. Make sure you gt some sun on it so it is at least even with your natural skin tone (unless you're generally a pretty pale person, then you might not need to.)

Also, you'll notice that bumping your head hurts a lot more too and it's easier to cut yourself. It's amazing how good of a shock absorber hair really is.

Well, I did it, and I like it...alot. I imagine I'll keep it this way even after my hair begins growing in those spots again.
