Could you work at a place where you were the only male/female?

Some people have issues with it, some don't. A place I went on an interview today, I pretty much learned the entire staff is female. It's a translation software solutions company so I assumed there would be a couple geeky dudes there that would be apt for a bout of online Halo or something, but the staff is entirely female. A couple of them were like, "if you get hired, could you handle all this estrogen around here?" I was like, "whatever, I'm secure." Then they both do their 20-something yuppie giggle and go about their business. The place pays well, I could afford to have more dental work done, which I need. I've been in places where there were more women than men, but never the only one. You see places where there are nothing but guys there, but never really vice versa unless it's specified "woman owned". If they offer, I may take it...who knows, may be some benefits. :o

I worked at a place with my girlfriend and a bunch of other women.
I was also the head prep person at a "gourmet burger" place where it was just me and 7 or 8 chicks in a tight little area.
Freaking rocked!

hell yea! then i wouldnt have to worry about compitition... have all the women to my self

At the software company I work at all the translation people are chicks. Maybe your really a chick, you know since you wanna do chick things.

Or

Be ready, you will definitely be the go to guy for all the heavy objects that need moving, and bug killing responsibilities.

As a male, I would love to work at a place with all women. Especially if they were around my age.

thats the kind of job that turns a man gay. why do you think all male hair stylists are gay? working around too many women.

Kind of like the army.

I would prefer to not have to work in an all male environment, it would be pretty awkward. I go to work to WORK, not to get hit on.

I don't think it'd be a deal breaker for me, if I liked the company/job enough, but it would probably be really weird.

My first real job was working at a toy store where I was the only guy there out of about five employees. None of the women were remotely hot, so it was no big deal.

I assume because a woman owns the place, she hires her own, but they may have decided to start going outside the gender pool as far as employees. I could be breaking some ground here. Plus, being the only black guy there...I know pornos that start like this. :o

I have. It's no big deal. Although the place where I was the only guy, the women were great to be around and took care of me with food and getting their husbands to work on my car.

It might be a bit awkward at times if I was the only male but ultimately I don't think it would matter to me.

do you mean like Victoria's Secret kinda thing?
No, not a lingerie store. I mean a place you assume is probably more diverse, but they're all girls. It's a software company, so you know. You picture dorky ass pale dudes running the joint.

just try and get the job then. :) the sad part is, they'll turn you gay. you'll get to hear all the gossip and drama. hah

^No, I plan on showcasing my penis and slapping each of them on the ass periodically to maintain myself. :o

that could either work out or make it worse.

Been there done that, some times it's cool, sometimes it sucks.
I am way too tired to elaborate, but imagine a construction/remodeling site and little ole me.

I work in a small 3-person group and I'm the only female. It works for me since I get along with my boss and lab partner fine - my boss has a long-term gf and my lab partner is more focused on getting to med school than hitting on anyone, LOL. We do have two female secretaries in the area, so when I need to blow off some estrogen, I can stop by. We mostly talk about cooking, at any rate....in that case I get along better with my boss and lab partner. :oldrazz:

My mom always said that men were more easy to get along with than women. She worked at a software company, and all that the women would talk about were clothes and jewelry. The guys were more interesting. :)
