Why do I not remember that?Monarch's goal is the destruction of the Monitors. At least, that's what he claims it is in Countdown.

He's an objectivist--who wouldn't hate him? Or did you mean his work?
Because you, like many others, try to tune out anything Monitor-related from Countdown? Why do I not remember that?
Yeah, I think I will actually get this. The Captain Atom/Monarch thing is the only part that bothers me; the premise of the actual series seems pretty fun. I'll just keep hoping this Monarch is some kind of alternate reality Captain Atom, or that Captain Atom got all wonky in the head on his return trip from the Wildstorm universe.
But that's ******ed in itself. The whole point of Captain Atom Armageddon was for Nate to be exposed to the darker Wildstorm universe and become a better hero because of it. Instead it had the opposite effect? Lame. That's the impression I got. He isn't in a stable mental condition.
However, I still think it was simply an oversight on the Arena website. The DC Universe still looks at Monarch as a villain and perhaps we're looking at it from their POV? How many heroes other than Kyle actually recognize Monarch as Cap. Atom?
He has been protrayed in Countdown as mischevious, but not necessarily evil.
I think Monarch/Captain is still good, although more anti-hero.![]()
It's a wonderful reason to hate someone. Possibly one of the top five best reasons to hate someone.I really don't think that's a reason to hate someone.
No, I like Bob. And I hate the other Monitors. But in a "I want to see them get ****ed" way, not in a "why are they in the book?" way.Because you, like many others, try to tune out anything Monitor-related from Countdown?
I think Aftermath Bludhaven made that abundantly clear. That's the impression I got. He isn't in a stable mental condition.
Anyone who was at Bludhaven when he destroyed it.Sakuraba said:How many heroes other than Kyle actually recognize Monarch as Cap. Atom?
A massive multiverse-spanning army is not something I would describe as mischeivous.Sakuraba said:He has been protrayed in Countdown as mischevious, but not necessarily evil.
It may just be the Countdown writing making them come off as such. I've yet to find a single character in here that hasn't had at least a moment of stuckupedness.
Looks like Earth-15 is the Earth where legacy heroes actually went ahead and took over for their predecessors. This would be like the bestest thing ever for me, except that it also looks like they've also got some weird silver age fetish thing going on.
Yeah, that would be a cool Earth, except for how stuck up they are, the Silver Age costumes, and the fact that Jason "I'm useless and should die again" Todd is Batman.
