Civil War Crossbones

I don't want to jump the gun once again and rant about how Cap will be underpowered and look bad (I'm glad I was wrong in AoU :yay:), but all the pics we have seen until now show Cap having his ass handed to him by Crossbones, a regular human with good training and pneumatic brass knuckles.
I know, those scenes could amount to the initial 5 seconds of their fight :woot::woot: it just doesn't feel right.
I think I'm too protective of Cap, right?

Edit: After watching the last gifs, I'm not worried anymore :)

We have no idea if he's a primary villain or not, it's more likely he's still just the muscle but this time Zemo's muscle. But even if he is a bigger villain that doesn't make him physically more powerful.

Presumably that's where the Cap Slappers come in.

Love this shot of Crossbones!

Unless they have mini arc reactors in them or something comparable I don't see how it would make much difference. He'd just be a human with metal gloves - big whoop.

and they filmed a scene where cap gets knocked pretty far back by one so I guess they are much more than gloves

^^Exactly. It should go without saying they have him wearing them for a reason.

On IG there is this one gif that I just saw where
Cap kicked CB and the latter went flying back.
It was pretty neat

They're hydraulic. They're attached to some sort of thing on his back.

I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want Crossbones to put up a good fight. It would be boring if Cap didn't fight anybody formidable.

Yea I agree, although remember that there will still be a huge battle going on between Ironman's Avengers team and Cap's. The villains might be behind the scenes, but the Civil War piece is the main plot point in this

Not sure why Crossbones was able to go toe to toe with Cap when as Brock he was just human. Maybe Zemo juices Xbones up or something.

Comic book fans are notoriously known for being picky about their favorite superhero's power levels.

Hydrolic knuckle dusters are a stupid idea. He'd be better off with a knife or two. It would do more damage unless those will break Caps bones (which I doubt).

Hopefully they make it work for the film.

He did? He got wrecked....

He was able to go head-to-head with Sam, but not Steve.

Knives wouldn't be as visually powerful and dynamic as a device that allows punches to knock Cap back from the impact. Those kind of visuals are much more fitting of a comic book action movie which is probably why they are going with that.

One of Bucky's schticks is the knife and well even after stabbing Steve in the chest it didn't slow him down much. Crossbones' fighting style is about brute force so trying to putting more force behind his punches with hydrolic fists makes sense though aside from a surprise punch or two I don't think it will make much difference. :cwink:

Talisman is correct: Bucky is designed for assassination, not fighting. Rumlow will probably just want to pound everything out of his enemies, hence the specialized gauntlets.

But PLEASE let them actually serve a purpose! Don't incorporate them into CB's armor if they won't do a single damn thing like the Stormtrooper's armor in the original Star Wars trilogy...

I hope Crossbones beat up Cap a bit and gives him a run for his money, and not get killed off; MCU is in need of more great villains, but at the rate of them killing the villains off it's no wonder why they don't have any compelling villains left, except for Loki. MCU needs the villains to form a super team to go against the Avengers.

I doubt he dies I see him coming back later in the movie to help Zemo or whoever
