I went Thursday night as well. The entire movie was silent except one guy behind me, right when Gwen died, he silently shrieked "oh ****!". Everyone glared at him. The second time I saw it, the entire theater, for the whole movie, was dead silent, and at the end everyone walked out.

Not a single sound when the film finished, people just left straightaway as soon as the credits came up and few were speaking. It was interesting, the audience I was a part of for ASM1 applauded but zilch for this one. I saw both films on the 2nd day of release.

Went four times total, two of which was in IMAX 3D, and both crowds were great. Receptive to the drama and the humor. Packed shows, both applauded at the end.

If all the good jokes weren't given away in the trailers, it might have gotten some laughs.

However, my audience did erupt in applause to the A Million Ways to Die in the West Trailer, when Doc Brown was shown with the BTTF delorean.:awesome:

Lots of laughter at the spidey quips at mine and a lot of gasps at the Gwen scene. Received claps and lot of excited chatter.

The theater was about half-full which is pretty good considering it was a Monday evening. There was laughing at Spidey's quips and few other humorous scenes and dead silent when that one particular scene occurred. Afterwards there was some clapping but otherwise a good amount of positive feedback.

Everyone booed and threw stuff at the screen. There were chants of "Batman and Robin" on the way out.

positive reaction from what I can see(I went to a theater in Rockville Maryland).

They laughed at scenes where Spider-Man was, on the laundry sheriff or the chimney scenes, they also found some of Jamie Foxx's Max Dillon scenes funny but they were shocked, as I indicated to the gasps as Max imagine himself lunging at Alistair Smythe.

From the moment Gwen died to the moment Harry and the Gentlemen started talking, they were silent, no one spoke, no one cough no I was even tried to hold my coughs in.

a few days later, a random student talked about how the new Spider-Man movie was good, and he liked Andrew's portrayal of Spider-Man. The theater was crowded(but it was opening weekend). A good portion of the crowd stayed until the last credits rolled up thinking there were an after credit scenes. I told the friends I was with they could be either the best movie you watch or the worst. But they both thought it was a good film

Yeah I had silence in my theater. No clapping, no one saying awesome at the end. It felt exactly like X-Men 3 in that people were in disbelief and had nothing to say. I went with a bunch of nerds though that lined up for an early premier so this isn't the soccer moms or the casual fan crowd.

I have to say, I've been hearing a ton of positive talk from people at my campus. I've overheard multiple conversations where people are expressing how good the film is to their friends.
Even my co-workers appear to have really enjoyed the movie. I can't say I've seen or heard one negative opinion outside of the internet for this movie.

Most of the crowds I had were fairly quiet from what I can remember. I've seen the film 5 times, ha. I'd say about 3 of them were less receptive, where the other two were laughing more at the funny parts and one group was very responsive at the end and clapped for a long time. Always some loud gasps during the death scene.

My theater loved it. LOVED IT. They ****ing clapped when Harry helped Electro escape Ravencroft...

Whole theater gasped when gwen died and one girl behind me said "I know you guys felt that right". I also kept hearing people whisper when harry called on Felicia.

I saw it with a packed house.(lots were kids) People did some laughing at the funny lines.A couple people clapped when Gwen and Pete kissed.:woot:

It was somewhat annoying that the girl behind me had seen the movie (possibly more than once) and was telegraphing the scenes to her boyfriend.

There were several audible gasps when Gwen died.

Two guys ahead of me as we were leaving the theater were making fun of the Rhino's accent.

The theater I was in just stayed silent the whole time. I think a few chuckles here and there but that's it. It wasn't a packed theater but then again I was seeing it at an IMAX theater on a Friday afternoon, and tickets cost $20 each. Sigh.

Aaw, wish the theatre I went to would react a little more.

They burst out in applause at the end of the first movie, but not a single clap for ASM2. o_O

Yeah I've talked to so many people in real life about the film and they've all loved it, not one negative thing to say.

Most people i know didn't really care, i'dd say the rsponse here was kind of mixed.

Except the TASM premiere 2 years ago (lots of fanboys there) I've never experienced that any german people applaused at the end of a movie ever xD

You could argue thats like in japan where silence is a sing of worship, but the truth is we're just to inhibited for such actions if it's "just" a movie and no live on stage performance :D

They should start to place paid clappers because if where good at something it's being influenced by others.
On the other side: It's not like anybody cares

Best example: At the end of TASM2 they're kinda throwing you out of the theatre by playing a german song nobody want's to hear so they can clean the room and go home sooner ^^' And if the song is not enought they're already waiting with their equipment and try to make you feel guilty because you're still sitting there :D
