And, for God's sake, people... Katherine =/= show

:o

Loved the backstory.

This show shines in it's pseudo mythology.
It's teen drama especially the elena stuff is kinda mediocre.

That being said I found the story of the originals to be AWESOME.

so they lived among werewolves in the americas and they were cursed as a response to the threat they themselves perceived. Klaus being the result of an affair between his moms and a wolfman.
keep it coming..

I don't know. Aside from the near-constant bellyaching Elena's been doing over Stefan, I think the show is a good blend of mythology and teen drama. The Caroline/Tyler relationship is great.

Finally, an episode that focuses on plot over melodrama! and far less incoherent than the last episode. Mikael's rep is fast growing like Klaus' did in previous seasons (hopefully with less letdown). And the first caucasian witch of the series!

The original origin story can't be over yet, lots of unanswered questions! Not least of which is last year, Katherine said that the sun-moon curse was bound by Petrova blood, so where were the Petrovas in any of this? still in Bulgaria? there wasn't a trace of them the whole episode beyond a vague mention of blood-laced wine, and that was only the blood that turned them immortal, not the same blood that cursed Klaus. The time from when they first became supernatural to when the original witch was killed was glossed over too fast.

I wonder if they will continue their once an enemy now on the good side trend with all the originals the way they have every recurring villain thus far(mostly).

So for we got two originals on our side

I think Michael is going to become a huge danger for them at some point. While Klaus is around, he's still got a target. Get Klaus out of the way.... they might be ****ed.

Really digging the backstory, hope they will reveal the origin of the werewolves as well. And they really need to expand on the curse put on Claus as well because there is something I still don't get, maybe I wasn't paying attention, but the curse said that the Petrova doppelganger had to be killed. But at the time of the curse the doppelganger (Elena) didn't even exist
Were we ever given an answer to this that I just didn't get or what?

Katherine was the original doppleganger that needed to be killed but she was turned into a vampire before Klaus could get to her.

Actually, Katherine is the second overall. There was an original Petrova, then the first doppelganger (Katherine), then the second (Elena).

So Katherine was alive, but not a vampire, when the curse was made?

It was made before she was even born.

But why does the curse say "Kill the doppelganger" when the doppelganger doesn't even exist? Or is a doppelganger a regular occurance in their world? Sorry if I ask a lot but I just never really got into the details about the curse.

It meant that he had to wait for a doppelganger to appear. She wasn't going to curse him just to make it easy for him to find all the pieces to break it right after.

We don't know yet all the full details of what happened when their mother cursed him, Rebekah kinda glossed through it. Likely because they revealed enough for one episode, and they'd want to focus on something like that for an episode by itself.

I loved Rebekah in this week's episode. She's fitting in nicely. I still miss Katherine though and I doubt that she's dead already.

I didn't quite understand why and how Michael's family was able to go to America before it was officially discovered ?
Someone cares to explain it to me ?

Well, Norse sailors had been travelling to and settling in North America since the 10th century. I think the writers actually did their homework in this regard since Alaric did mention that the writings were in runic or as he called it, 'viking script'.

Okay, thanks for the clarification.

Paul Wesley's wife is headed to The Vampire Diaries
Vampire Diaries‘ Paul Wesley is bringing his personal life to work.

The actor’s real-life wife, Torrey DeVitto, has landed a recurring gig on the CW saga.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Pretty Little Liars/One Tree Hill alumna will play an intelligent (and beautiful!) doctor who finds herself fascinated with Matt Davis’ reluctant do-gooder, Alaric. DeVitto makes her Mystic Falls debut in Episode 10.

Me Gusta. Persia White was one of the best parts of Girlfriends. Though she seems young for Bonnies mom which could mean........vampire?

Dammit. I was hoping we'd get more [blackout]Mikael[/blackout].

Yeah, What a let down. If other original vampire's can come back from being staked in the heart from a dagger dipped in the ash from the white oak tree on the show, who's to say that Michael can't come back someway?

Shouldn't Klaus have been devamped at least after stabbing daddy with the wooden stake or was it not covered by the same loophole or spell that the metal dagger dipped in the white oak ash had?

Perhaps being a hybrid protects him.

And I hope Rebekah gets her dagger pulled out. It was such a nice moment before Elena ****ed her over. :cmad:

I actually like that Elena is gradually becoming stronger on the show. She's been pretty much useless for the first 2 series, but her stabbing Rebekah. Well damn.

Sucks that TVD isn't back till January now though.

For Elena actually having worth on this show other than being the damsel in distress, sure that was a great moment. But since I've started taking a liking to Rebekah, I'm just :csad:
