Honestly, I'm just glad Klaus survived this episode.

Crisis averted.

At least Kathrine is alive. Is that original killing weapon gone ?

so hybrids are allergic to wolfsbane? I'd imagine they can get staked too..
well at least they don't have the sun or the moon to worry about.

The best thing from last night Is Katharine's alive. It seems she IS going away for awhile though till they need her to show up again.

I just want Elijah and Rebekah back. :o

The whole Mikael/Klaus scene was great, by the way. "Nobody cares about you anymore, boy!!!"

I think whenever Rebekah gets awakened it wont be nice to be around her. Elena couldve probably ended up getting her on her side permanatley.

I wonder why Stefan did what he did & let Klaus live ? Surely Klaus is just going to come back with more Hybrids & pretty much go to war. I am guessing Stefan has another plan up his sleeve ?

They explained it pretty clearly when he was in the car with Katherine. Klaus dies, and Damon dies too because he ordered them to kill him should anything happen to Klaus.

But if Klaus dies then anyone he was controlling loses that control don't they ? Which is why they wanted Klaus dead instead of making a deal with Klaus to kill Mikael. Klaus dying solves a lot of problems

Shouldn't Klaus have been devamped at least after stabbing daddy with the wooden stake or was it not covered by the same loophole or spell that the metal dagger dipped in the white oak ash had?
Perhaps being a hybrid protects him.

I think other originals are immune to that particular rule. Otherwise, Klaus would not have been able to stab Rebekah in the past, or Elijah for that matter.

They're two different forms of control. With Stefan, it was a compulsion which wears off when the compeller dies. With the other hybrids, they are sired - which is an innate loyalty towards Klaus and so probably has a different set of rules (e.g. it's possible to override it through another original's compulsion). It's through this natural instinct that Klaus commands his hybrid army to do his bidding.

If he compelled them, yes, but they were sired to him, which is even stronger, and would last after his death. He explained it to Katherine as such before she went to get Stefan.

My favorite part if after all that happened to Klaus and the people that did it and almost succeeded. He just strolls out of town the very next day. Whilst they no doubt head off to school to do their tests and Damon no doubt goes back to his giant mansion.

I love the show but it doesn't cover it's back end whatsoever and it knows it. To my likeing any way.

Well, what do you expect them to do? Their plan went up in smoke. This was just a battle, not the war.

when elena realised it's because of her that all their plans fail, i immediately thought katherine was coming back. a little bit later in the ep and i was right.

im sure mikael had more than one stake made from the tree as a precautionary measure in case he had the kill all the other originals.

i reckon it would be cool if they found a spell that reverses the original witches spell and makes all the originals human. due to all vampires being descended from the originals it would turn them human too. would be interesting to see how stefan and damon would deal with that.

I just want Sebastian Roche on TV in a regular role. He's been on Fringe, Supernatural and now this. He's been great on all three and he's been killed on all three. :csad:

Me and my lady just finished season 2 when does this air and when do re-runs of this season start since they are on amid season break? This has to be one of the top five network shows, waaaaaay to good.

New episodes air thursdays at 8. There might be a week-long marathon of season three episodes coming up, since thats what The CW has done with the past two seasons.

Get ready to meet Klaus' other Original brothers on The Vampire Diaries.

British actor Caspar Zafer (La Femme Muskateer) and Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic (Out of the Blue) have been tapped to play the recurring roles of Finn and Kol, respectively, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. Both brothers have a bone to pick with Klaus (Joseph Morgan), especially since they've been locked up in those coffins Klaus has been carting around for so long.

We've previously met Klaus' step-father, Mikael (Sebastian Roche), who Klaus killed in the midseason finale, and Klaus' sister, Rebekah (Claire Holt), who recently died at the hands of Elena (Nina Dobrev). Meanwhile, the group's other brother, Elijah (Daniel Gillies, is back in the coffins that Stefan (Paul Wesley) so cleverly stole from Klaus. Two other Original brothers died of the plague and a werewolf attack centuries prior.

The Vampire Diaries returns Thursday, Jan. 5 at 8/7c on The CW. Zafer and Buzolic will first appear in Episode 13.

So, that's six kids so far. And I believe it was said that there were seven. I wonder if they're saving the best for last.

Oh, never mind, I missed the part about the plague.

I'm all caught up on this show now.

I'm just going to say it, better mythology going on here than on Tru Blood. Can't say I care about S5 of TB at this point, may or may not watch.
At the same point in their run, mid way into S3, VD is the better vampire show.
