The Last Jedi Daisy Ridley as Rey (VIII)

Is that a project or actually her in high school? Because that really does look 80s. :funny:

Considering how she's younger than I am, she wasn't going to HS in the 80's. So I'm guessing that it's the former.

I know she was born in 92. But some teens just gravitate to style that is a few years in the past. Or in this case, a couple of decades.

Maybe Daisy was just a really big Kelly Kapowski fan.

You can see how red her hair is there.

Is that her natural hair color or did she dye it for a film?

Consider her sister and all her roles before TFA, that has to be dyed for a role or simply her own pleasure.

The red definitely doesn't look like her natural one. Likely because she's done filming or she has a new role to dye it for.

Imagine if your Dad wrote a dirty book. Most people would try to ignore it and pretend it had never happened - but not Jamie Morton. Instead, he's decided to read it to the world in this brand new comedy podcast. With the help of his friends, James Cooper and BBC Radio 1's Alice Levine, Jamie will be reading a chapter a week and discovering more about his father than he ever bargained for.

Footnotes: Daisy Ridley
The Force is strong with Belinda as 'Star Wars' actress Daisy Ridley joins the gang to chat about weird merchandise, who she'd play in the 'Belinda Blinked' movie and filming the upcoming Episode VIII...

transcript relevant parts:
It's hard to kind of like know what your character's backstory is 'cause it's so...

DR: Yeah but I know. In the same way that Belinda knows her history.

Okay.

DR: I can't believe I just likened the two.

<Laughter>

What's the name of Episode VIII, please.

DR: I... cannot tell you.

Worth a try.

DR: Um, I heard a title and I'm not sure it's gonna be that.

Okay. So you don't even know.

DR: No. I don't really know much about anything. <makes noises> Ditzing along in a cloud.

This is her act so that she doesn't have to say anything. This is well-rehearsed.

DR: I have heard about it - I heard a long time ago before we started filming.

Oh, wow.

DR: So I felt like some things have tweaked slightly during [filming]. So it's gonna be while before it's released I imagine.

Is it gonna be good? Do you feel like you've made - that you've filmed a good movie?

Is it a corker?

DR: Yeah. I hope so. It's weird, it's like a lot of expectations now.

It's a lot to live up to, isn't it?

DR: Everyone's like, "god you must be less stressed." I'm like, absolutely not. My neuroses was like 100 times worse than before. But I think so, yeah.

Does Rey get injured?

DR: Injured emotionally or physically?

Oooh.

Yes or no actually...

DR: Um, god I've actually... jetlag is probably not good. I'll say...yes.

Okay. Oh my god.

Do you get a new outfit?

DR: Maybe! Maybe is another option.

Yeah! <laughter> Everything's maybe for now on.

Is there a big explosion?

DR: Maybe! I mean in space everyone loves explosions.

Is there a romance?

DR: Maybe!

Oooh.

DR: The thing is I read this article the other day and it was talking about being in love with your friends. And like how that is like the ultimate thing. So I think romance covers a lot of bases.

I agree.

DR: Yeah.

Well, Daisy, thank you so much.

Damn, how many times are they going to make that film? :funny:

If Rey is not related to anyone important then explain how she is Force sensitive explain to me just how she was able to hold her own against Kylo Ren in a lightsaber battle explain how she was able to overpower him without any Force training? She has to be related to a Jedi that is the only thing that makes any sense at all

She doesn't need to be related to anyone "important" to be force sensitive. There were thousands of jedi in the galaxy before Order 66 coming from all over. She doesn't need to be a Solo or a Skywalker or even a Kenobi to be strong with the force.

Kylo Ren wasn't exactly bringing his A game, was he?

1) He just killed his own father, which clearly took its toll on his emotions. You can see it on his face right after he falls.

2) He was shot in the side with Chewbacca's crossbow after the film spent time hammering in how powerful of a weapon it was, blowing Stormtroppers completely off the ground. (Kylo only lurched forward, so I think that says something to his strength)

3) He wasn't trying to kill Rey. He was just deflecting her shots at first, then asks her to let him train her.

So we have an emotionally compromised injured Kylo Ren who is trying to lure Rey to his side rather then straight up murder her. That's why she beat him. She likely couldn't have if he was at 100%.

You do have a point but then how do you explain her Force vision? Her hearing Obi-Wan's voice
