Daniel Craig confirmed as new James Bond

Ahhh...thanks.
Well, you know, make up does wonders, and this could be one of those cases.
The only other option I really liked was Clive Owen, but I'm pretty happy with Daniel Craig.
He just needs a makeover, is all

And looking at pics, I guess Goran could work, if he had less puffy hair.

Its not just that he's ugly, everything about him is wrong,he's a thug type with no sauveness or charisma,he's a cockney villain type not a cool debonair spy

But he's an actor first, dude.
I think we should give him the benefit of the doubt.
What if he's great and very talented but hasn't been able to show it?

Im not saying he's not a good actor im saying he's the wrong actor,I wouldn't cast Bruce Willis as Superman,it doesn't mean he's not a good actor but he lacks the characteristics to play the role

Hmmm....ok, while I don't necessarily agree, I do see your point.
I really like the choice, but I guess time will tell, huh?

Well, he doesn't have "the look" as many of the other actors mentioned... if he is cast, we'll no doubt hear a lot of "I want James Bond, not James Blonde" comments... but all that aside, the guy is a hell of an actor and when it comes to the cool persona needed to play Bond, Graig can certainly do it. He also appears to be in pretty good shape not (more so than Brosnan was in his last couple of films) and he looks like he could kick somebody's ass.

what if it had Scarlett?

She would make a better Bond:p
oh... now that would be a great idea.. a female Bond... oh, think of the possibilities

Maybe Guy Ritchie should do a bond film

Isn't Craig bald? I know they have hairpieces, but still.

Sean Connery was almost bald when he played bond...

Actually, if he dyed his hair, WHICH I'M SURE EON WILL MAKE HIM DO, IT'S OBLIGATORY.....he'd look like the Bond of the books, but not the Bond of the movies.
Damn straight, and he's got the personality too. Perfect choice in my opinion if they're sticking close to Casino Royale.

Indeed. People who actually know James Bond the character, not james bond the EON marketting piece, they'll agree Craig can pull it off.

Strange, ive read the books and i don't remember him ever being written as an ugly cockney villain

*sigh*

i guess they're gonna go with "book Bond", the feel to it anyway. 'bout high time i suppose

as i said in another thread, my pick would be either Goran or Craig. but if it were gonna be Craig he has got to stay a blonde. i've seen pictures of Craig w/ dark hair. he looks as old and even worse than Brosnan. Craig kinda reminds me of Ian Fleming, that's the kind of aura he projects anyway. i know there has never been a non-dark haired Bond before, but hey, if he can do book justice to a role that's long overdue then that's fine by me.

is Q in this movie?
It would be cool if they used his real name...
''Geoffrey Boothroyd''

Daniel Craig can be a great Bond. But I think that the fanbase and causual movie-goers will be divided.

Pierce Brosnan had the perfect elements of a great James Bond: Good looks, charisma, and intensity. But I think people will judge Craig more on his looks than his performance, sadly.

If Craig is Bond, I will support him.

Here are some of my trivial concerns...

Honestly, I think that Craig no more youthful than Brosnan, who still has his boyish looks for being in his early 50s. That's the thing that is holding back Craig right now.
THis is a prequel, and yet Bond will be no less younger (LOOKING) than his past incarnations? I don't know... I'm glad that they didn't go with that Henry Cavill kid, but still.

I would LIKE FOR Craig to dye his hair as well. In some ways, it's like having a blonde Superman or Batman. It doesn't feel right. I don't think Craig is BALD; he has what I like to call "Fair Hair". Meaning that he's hair is fine now, but I CAN tell that later on he will lose it.

Either way, it's hard to take over for Brosnan because he was the ideal Bond in my eyes. But I think Craig can handle it...

According to the less than completely reliable British newspaper, The Daily Mail. It's not a trashy tabloid like many British 'newspapers', but it's not especially respectable either.

The Mail says Craig will be confirmed by EON later this week, and the script will be altered as he is 37, not 28 as the producers ideally wanted.

And The Mail says Craig will not dye his hair. He will play 007 blonde.

"Bond. James Bond. Maybe."

Martin Campbell has lost his mind if he's going with Daniel Craig.

Well, at least we'll always have the Connery movies... :o

They talked about him as definate for 007 yesterday on TRL,i thought they were just misinformed as usual......sadly that doesn't seem to be the case, well thats the death of Bond,we now have an ugly cockney villain in the lead, well done EON:up:

He's not that ugly...

I've never really gotten a Bond vibe from him, but I'll give him a chance before writing of the franchise. Im really more concerned with what Campbell is gonna do. The actors who've played Bond have come and gone. Eh he's worth a try, most Americans will have absolutely no idea who he is.

if Q is not in this movie and if Craig doesn't dye his hair, i'll hate this movie

I couldn't be happier. Perfect choice.
