I'm still laughing at this.

So now that we've heard that there will be a gap of about a year between each series, when do you guys think the Defenders show will come out? Can't be 2019. :(

Daredevil and AKA jessica jones this year, Luke Cage and iron fist next year. Defenders should be in 2017.

What stories do you think they will adapt in the first season? It seems the first season will have elements of "Man Without Fear", but I think there will also be elements from Frank Miller's Gang War story, with Owl replacing Kingpin's old lieutenants as the rival faction Kingpin goes against.

No, according to the Netflix CCO AKA Jessica Jones may not air this year.

I'd bet it will though. November/December time

My only question is since Daredevil comes before Avengers 2 I guess they can't reference it.

Yeah, my guess is they're aiming for a late 2015 release, but can't yet guarantee it, so they don't want to announce a deadline and create pressure until they're confident they can make that date. We may not get an official release date until after shooting has wrapped, like with Daredevil.

Cool, then we have Avengers and Defenders in the same year. :woot:

Thinking I will watch this series in two days. It comes out on a Friday. So that night when I leave work I can probably watch about 3 episodes and then finish it off on Saturday. And be ready for GOT on Sunday haha.

I want to see Daredevil dealing with the aftermath of Avengers 2. How these events effect things on a street level.

Might be a bit weird considering the series hits before Age of Ultron. I expect Daredevil will largely be its own thing, with some references to the larger Marvel Universe

Still find it hard to believe that Daredevil premieres in three months. Didn't they just finish shooting the last episode?

Yeah, since he said specifically that one might come in 8 months from the last one, it sounds to me like they're AIMING for a December date this year for AKA JJ, but are giving the production the flexibility it needs to be the best product it can be, so they're not committing to a date. It does sound like the wait for Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Defenders is gonna be longer than we thought, though. I do hope we get Iron Fist sometime next year, though, even if I'm getting the feeling it wouldn't be 'til the end of it.

Yeah, they wrapped on Dec. 21st.

I like the idea of Daredevil and these other Marvel characters technically existing in the MCU but also existing within a smaller bubble of that universe. It's like the "Marvel Knights Television Universe" sort of thing, a place for the darker characters that more or less don't really fit on screen with Iron Man or Captain America. Although at some point I would like to see another Daredevil film.

I wish that they would bring in the Punisher and give him a series of his own.

I would suspect it is due to the minimal amount of special fx involved with DD. I mean, there will be SPFX but it probably won't be avengers level.

Wouldn't hold your breath on a film.

Honestly, Daredevil is probably better suited for TV anyway with the lawyer courtroom angle.

Plus since it's on Netflix, it can be darker and grittier than your typical Marvel flick. Not saying we are getting sex and nudity, but obviously they are going darker for this show than anything we've seen from the modern Marvel Studios stuff before.

He is definitely a character and definitely not a secret because I believe the comic con footage was described as a young Matt getting a pep talk from Jack. So clearly someone was cast and shot at least a scene. Surprised no one who was there posted who it was. It's possible he's a seriously obscure actor

Ah, yes. I knew something seemed not quite right. I'm sure they'd cast some credible character actor. We got the great David Keith before. I'd go with someone like James Remar. You'd think we'd have heard about someone like that.

Does anyone who was at NYCC post here?

I can't believe that in exactly 3 months from today, Daredevil will be available to view on Netflix.

This'll be the Batman show I've been waiting for a very long time.

I hope though that it's more similar to Arrow than Gotham in tone, but ultimately different from both. I'd want it more like Law & Order, I guess. They did mention the Wire though.
