I doubt its gonna take that long to do season 2. Each show is going to have a different production crew.

Awesome trailer. Can't wait for the show. I think my favorite aspect was how it showed Kingpin in a more sympathetic, Tony Soprano type of light. Yeah, he's still a real bad guy but he has hidden depths to him. He's not a cartoon character. You could almost have this exchange:

Daredevil: "I'm just trying to make my city a better place."

Kingpin: "So am I."

The trailer was quite simply a work of art. I just kept playing it over and over and over. Now I'm scared that my expectations for the show are too high.

Great comments, and so very true. I get a Sopranos vibe from it as well.

I really want to see Melvin Potter suited up as the Gladiator. That costume looks very iconic and badass. I don't think I've ever seen any spinning blades used on any other character in any media before. But it's not just the blades. His helmet and body armour look cool too. Marvel shouldn't be afraid to suit him up fully.

Not to mention his occupation was a costume designer in the comics. So really he is the perfect candidate, and could even be used to bring about Daredevil's costume.

Surfer

I'm almost completely sure that Matt Murdock will get his red Daredevil costume from Potter.

Yeah they said someone else designs the suit. I want to know who it is

I don't really want Potter to be an ally though until much later. I prefer him to be an outright enemy like he was in the early comics. He was probably one of DD's most consistently recurring villains.

Those DD v Gladiator stories were very memorable.

He may have been a villain first, but Melvin Potter didn't really become a truly interesting character until he tried to reform, and Murdock tried to help him do it. I really enjoyed him in the Bendis/Maleev run when Alexander Bont was blackmailing him and forcing him to put on the costume and fight Daredevil against his will, I'd kinda like a dynamic like that with him and Fisk.

The inclusion of Turk made this tv show the most accurate comic book superhero adaptation ever.

But it'll still be financed by the same people.

And if they get a return investment, we'll see a Season 2. It's all about ratings and if enough people are watching it, Netflix will pay up because it keeps them subscribing.

Plus, separate showrunners mean that we'll get new seasons of Daredevil and Jessica Jones before Iron Fist and Luke Cage hit, provided that neither series flops.

For instance, we'l probably see Daredevil again in mid-2016, which is when Iron Fist is set to premiere, then Season 2 of Jessica Jones will hit in late 2016 a few months before Luke Cage lands in early 2017 with plot threads from Jessica Jones Season 2 being part of Luke Cage.

And in 2018, we'll get our Defenders. And by then we'll have an amazing roster of Defenders to play with. Particularly since it's possible to introduce a lot of new characters in four seasons of Daredevil, 3 seasons of Jessica Jones and 2 seasons of Iron Fist and Luke Cage.

From Daredevil: Elektra, Echo
From Jessica Jones: Hellcat
From Iron Fist: Misty Knight, Colleen Wing, Shang Chi
From Luke Cage: White Tiger

And then Doctor Strange and Spider-Man from the films, possibly also Hulk since he's heavily associated with the Defenders but I'd save Hulk for the last episode.

And Marvel still has yet to develop Moon Knight or She-Hulk who can both join the Defenders, Black Cat probably won't have appeared in the MCU Spider-Man yet, we won't have seen Namor in an Avengers sequel and Iceman, Silver Surfer and Human Torch are over at Fox so it won't be a perfect Defenders roster but it'll be close enough and there will be room to grow in case there's a Defenders 2.

It depends on if he's taking his medication or not. You can't tell somebody with schizophrenia that he isn't ordered by Ceaser to kill Daredevil because he'll actually have seen and heard Ceaser talking to him and believe that he's traveled back in time to ancient Rome and that's how he sees reality.

If you could make Carl Weathers 30 years younger and cast him, then it would be. The guy who Turk's face was modeled on is now too old for the part.

^ I just think you're overstating Netflix's resources to produce these shows - particular since they don't gain quite as much by having several new Marvel shows airing at essentially the same time (spacing it out so you stay subscribed is better for them). So it doesn't make sense to have Daredevil season 2 and Iron Fist (for example) at the same time. And all that's leaving aside the obvious comparison to the movies where each character has a movie and then you have Avengers.

Although the Bendis story was a copy of a great story that was a team up between Denny O'Neil and Frank Miller. But I agree otherwise. Having Matt Murdock defend Melvin Potter was one of my favorite moments from the law aspect of the character (although Foggy ended up saving the day). The idea that he would do that to help out a former enemy shows the strength of his character and his belief in the system.

The thing is that you can't really appreciate Potter's attempts to reform if he already starts off that way. You need to see him as a villain first. That's what gave it added weight in the comics, because you knew that he had been a recurring villain in the early DD comics for all these years. If he just shows up on the scene already wanting to reform, then that's all you'll come to know him as - someone trying to reform. You don't see much of a journey at all.

I was thinking around 3 months in between each series + Defenders popping up at any time.

Beginning of the year is when Luke Cage would hit, spring for Daredevil, summer for Iron Fist and autumn for Jessica Jones. I was thinking that the first Defenders will hit shortly after Infinity War right before Season 3 of Iron Fist but before Black Panther in around May or June 2018.

Um... jessica jones hits next. And they havent even begun filming yet

Watched the trailer at least ten times now.

No offence to Arrow, but it literally just has models as actors, it's a CW show and will never have the budget, the acting talent, the crew talent.

I don't watch it anymore, but I appreciate it for what it is, and it pushes its limits really well.

But this right here is another league.
Agreed!

They might of started. But last week ritter tweeted a pic of her beefing up her muscles

You have to maintain maintain your shape once you're fit. The release date is still either late this year or the beginning of next year for Jessica Jones.

They've been filming for over a month. Just because she's posting a photo of herself working out now means nothing other than she's continuing to work out while production is going on. Some set pics from February 9th and 10th or so:
