Funnily enough, I was just reading a story by Brubaker where Murdock was breaking the bones of a couple of criminals. I've seen Miller's Daredevil do stuff like that too![]()
As I've said several times before, he's been written as someone who can lose control, and someone who sometimes will beat people more badly than say spider-man, but doig this kind of stuff is the exception, not the rule. If you examine DD's whole history, you may find a handful of instances like those ones, but it's certainly not a portrayal that represents what the character is about.
Like most people here, I've read Miller, Bendis and Brubaker's run. I've also read every Essential Daredevil volume and most of Nocenti's run. And I certainly don't remember DD being known as someone who would be that violent.
Of course, it doesn't mean he's never been that violent in somestories. but again, this is the exception, not the rule, and it's not what makes him stand out among other heroes. And I certainly hope the show won't portray him like that.
