So, Superhero Hype states that Daredevil's red costume can be briefly seen during the opening credits. I am surprised no other review seems to mention this. Also wondering if that intro showing the Red Costume might leak before the shows debut on april10th.

You can't wait 10 days? ;)

Since SHH mentioned it.

Yes, the opening does give a hint of the red costume. However, the whole opening is basically in like this cloudy CG red. But it does have the horns, ears look to be exposed or molded into the mask. It's hard to get a read on how the costume will actually look on the show. But it does at least hint at Murdock getting the classic costume later on.

Kingpin does have the bulletproof suit made by Melvin Potter as well.

Haven't spent a whole lot of time listening to the music. It's very dark and brooding though. A lot of brooding tones.

The theme music is OK. They didn't give Daredevil a big or cool theme IMHO. Which isn't a big deal. Maybe it will become more prevalent as the show moves forward.

Still I'm glad the opening theme is there. It sets the mood right.

It was Iron Fist, dressed as Daredevil. I believe Matt was in prison at the time.

That is what was said after the fact right, but in the diner scene where Cap, Hercules, Goliath and DD are disguised it clearly looks like Matt

I wanna know what's up with that ep 2 fight/action scene everyone is raving about. The comparison to the Raid hallway hammer scene....hrmm....

The ep 4 RATED R bit mentioned HAS to be Fisk finally unleashing. I can't imagine what he could do that would shock me like the reviews suggest tho.

I can't believe it's so close now. Hearing all this rad stuff is getting me even more jazzed.

I remember when all the shows were first announced. Couldn't be more excited now!

What about Grayson Sanders' music? He has written a song for this show which was used in the second trailer.

I feel like the marketing for this show has been played masterfully, a steady build of content without giving too much away. Culminating in yesterday's review blitz, they've played every card and paced their reveals perfectly. With just over a week to go, is there anything else you'd like to see from promotion for this show?

I kinda feel like I could live with nothing else now until the launch, though the selfish part of me probably needs more nuggets to tide me over. Today is press day apparently, so maybe we'll get a steady stream of interviews coming out of this to make the final days go by smoothly.

A couple more clips, we got one with Late Night last night, but we've seen way less of this 13 hour show than AoU which is 3-4 weeks away, I could handle a minute or two clips being released

I can live without any new footage, and don't think they'll release any, save for a few TV spots

so we do know he doesn't get his red suit in the first five episodes now.

I like reading Devin's film reviews and editorials. He has some great views and he's a pretty good writer but that dude can be a condecending ass.

I agree with you.... I like Devin. I think he's generally okay as a scoopster, (not completely accurate, but pretty good batting average) and an editorialist, and he did some amazing things bringing more attention to the GamerGate fiasco.... But he can be a little bit of a jerk at times. BAD is right up there as my go to Internet geek sites, because they have good writers and their comments on the articles rival the entertainment value of AV Club's. I'm always up for good movie snark.

That said, it's entertaining watching the reviews from Variety, Esquire, SHH, etc. roll in as Devin says there's "bad buzz." LOL!

And I say that as a fan of his, for the record.

For hardcore fans of Daredevil, I find it highly unlikely fans will be disappointed.

Charlie Cox despite playing a blind guy makes sure to let everyone know he is in charge of the room whenever he goes in. Cox basically alphas everyone, especially poor Foggy.

The reviews I've scanned through have all commented how wonderful Cox (heh!) is as Matt. Perfectly cast, wonderfully suited.

I. Am. So. There. For him. :hmr:

I've already established how I'm going to cram in a whole lot of DD next Friday after my son goes to bed. I think I can get through four or five episodes on Friday, then divide up the rest on Saturday between his naps and bedtime.

great thing about the marketing is there is really no need to give too much away since it's not a weekly series. all episodes drop at once so there's no need to hook viewers for the long haul.

No, I can wait I am a pretty patient person. I am just surprised is all. Every review made it sound like they went for this black darker costume, and while I get that was what the press got in the first 5 episodes none of the other reviews seemed to allude to the fact that we would eventually be getting the red suit as the opening scene credits suggest. Also, no one made mention as to if the red costume looks awesome, good, bad or whatever, but perhaps part of that is due to the image being somewhat unclear in the intro due to the mist you explained. One question I do have though is the Red Costume clearer in the intro then what we get in the reflection of the full motion poster, and did you like what you were able to make out from it?

How are people feeling of the no radar sense thing.

I think I kind of like it, most people seem to rip on Daredevil for being a blind character who has a radar sense which basically negates his blindness.

Obviously he will still have great hearing which will help him out but it seems like it won't be a superpower which the radar sense kind of was

Well in one of the trailers it had him focusing on a guy getting into a car, by showing it as clear visually at that spot and then slowly making it get more blurry as it got further away from him. Was that not their depiction of his Radar sense? I kind of felt it was and that it was just not as overt as in the Daredevil Movie, but perhaps you are right and it is just their way of showing him focusing his hearing. Not sure.

All the reviews seem to suggest there is no obvious radar sense, a couple point out it doesn't appear he has any superpowers and he is just trained. I think that one shot is him focusing his hearing

many keeps raving about this one damn fight scene in the 2nd episode. The latest from den of geek

The fight scenes are all spectacular, with lots of long shots to make sure you can see every hit. There's one in particular in an early episode that is handily the most spectacular fistfight I've seen in any superhero project, and it should satisfy even the most hardened action movie afficionado. You'll know it when you see it, and I expect it's the one that everyone will be talking about in the first hours after the show hits Netflix

I need this series NOW

I'm kinda fine with it since a few reviews say they do cool things with the audio. That's perfect for a story about a blind person with heightened senses. It'd be a missed opportunity if they didn't play around with the sound mix.

Me too. I don't think it needs to be in your face as much as it was in Fox's version of the character. I like the idea of it being subtle cues as well.

The impression I've been getting is that he definitely has heightened senses, they're just subtle in the way they present them.

Anyway, I'm beyond excited that the reviews have all been so effusive. This is my most anticipated multimedia experience of this year, and it sounds like it's going to be more than worth the wait.

Oh I didn't mean it's not clear he has advanced senses but there are people like that in the world and blind people who can use a sort of echolocation what I meant was they seem to have done away with an obvious at any rate radar sense which especially in the film was a bit overkill.

maybe holding off the radar sense as it's gonna be too similar to spidey sense?
