Mr. Faraci is a fart in the wind. Not losing any sleep over this as I'll be my own judge.

Yeah exactly same here. Really could give a **** what him or others have to say. I don't care for critics, never listen to them or read reviews. I will judge for myself. I know what I like and I know what I don't like.

Devin Faraci just tweeted that he's hearing "very bad buzz on Daredevil"

I don't think everyone will love the Daredevil tv series, and I'm quite sure that some of Devin Faraci friends will hate it, but it's clear how he had his mind made about the Daredevil series on Netflix MONTHS ago:

Please release an image from DAREDEVIL that doesn't make me cringe. Thanks.

This EW piece seems to think "no fear" is one of Daredevil's powers? http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/12/29/daredevil/?hootPostID=86d97ba533da5f593b1f0d7ac3a86d91 …

I will dutifully watch DAREDEVIL, but I can't say I'm that excited about it yet.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Feb 4
The strange thing about Daredevil as a character is that his defining story is about him being destroyed.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Feb 10
@messenscene he walked away from DAREDEVIL because he couldn't work with Marvel TV.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Feb 10
@justinbyrd09 no, because he was not having a good experience on DAREDEVIL.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Feb 20
Creel didn't seem this old in SHIELD.. “@Daredevil: Be careful of the Murdock boys. They got the devil in them. ”

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Feb 23
I don't want to discuss canonicity or the realism of it - Daredevil's costume in the Netflix show is a total bore.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Feb 26
At this point I'm assuming the impenetrable darkness of so many DAREDEVIL TV show images are to replicate Matt's blindness.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Mar 10
I cannot believe DAREDEVIL has Kingpin say “We have a lot in common.” That whole “We’re alike” villain speech cliche is done.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Mar 17
A hazard of being an old comic fan: Miller’s DAREDEVIL: MAN W/O FEAR mini isn’t an origin to me, it’s a retcon.

Devin Faraci ‏@devincf Mar 17
I hate that Frank Miller’s versions of Batman and Daredevil have become the default cinematic versions of those characters.

Hearing very bad buzz on DAREDEVIL.

I mean, it's quite clear that he is one of those types that will judge a movie or a tv series way before he watches it and does his best to make his peers and followers to feel the same as he does. I mean, yeah we get it, you don't like this version of Daredevil, you like previous Frank Miller stuff, that's alright, we hear you, you don't like Daredevil, the buzz your hearing is very bad and Drew Goddard left Marvel TELEVISION Department for a chance of DIRECTING Spider-Man related movies at Sony because he wasn't happy with Marvel Television, money wasn't part of this equation at all, we hear you. Now can we watch Daredevil and make our own minds about it now? I mean, it's not the first time that this guy actively pushes against a movie or a tv series exactly like this in the past, but can you let your peers and your audience decide if they'll like it or not before you play party blooper?

I mean, you don't like anything from this Daredevil tv show on Netflix and you've been expressing this for months. Can we move on? And while we are at it, can you stop spoiling unreleased movies on Twitter, even if it's Furious 7? It's annoying, thanks.

Lol what a baby. "I want the red costume and I WANT IT NOW!!!1!1!!"

Charlie Cox on David Letterman. No DD clip just interview.

It seems to me that Faraci loves a specific version of both DD and batman, and whenever movies or tv shows use the most famous version, he's pissed off.

Anyway, I don't care about what he thinks, it's obvious he made his mind, just as I made mine. I'm basically sure I will love it, because evrything I have seen indicates it's been made by a great team of professionnals, with a lot of passion for the project.

So I just rewatched the motion poster and what do you know... JOSIE'S bar (with the S blinking on and off) is next to the diner. So awesome. Little details like that just show that this series is probably going to be incredible.

No idea how I didn't catch that the first 47 times I watched. Probably too busy staring at the puddle reflection.

Nice :woot:
And don't feel bad about not noticing it, I'm sure most people weren't even aware of the fact that there were people in the motion poster. Everyone was staring at a puddle :oldrazz:

+5 respect points to Charlie Cox for doing the interview while visibly ill from food poisoning. +10 for the Ebola gag.

So how was it decided things are going to be handled on this forum? Will there be a thread for each episode, a general/overall "spoiler" thread, will spoilers be allowed in this GD thread, will there be a spoiler free discussion thread, combination of some/all of the above? (just trying to figure out what/where I need to avoid come release day since it's likely to take me a few days to get through all eps given my schedule)

I'd say that this thread should become a free-for-all post launch. Then also make a NON-SPOILER discussion thread. Then also make threads form each episode, where spoilers for every episode up to and including the one being discussed are allowed, but nothing beyond that.

Sounding like that bad buzz rumor was total BS after all. Noones even seen it yet. So lets all watch on April 10th then we'll decide.

I'm pretty sure the press have seen a bunch of episodes. Reviews are coming on the 2nd

the bad buzz still seem like it's BS though.

Yeah. He was willing to share that there'd been "bad buzz," but refused to acknowledge the possibility of "good buzz" because of review embargos.

I'm fully expecting a terrible review of this series from Devin Faraci once it debuts. He's been drafting his terrible review of this series for about a year now. Look, painting a picture in our heads about whether a show or film is going to be good or bad, then dwelling on evidence to support our conclusion, is something that plenty of us do. But as a critic, Devin really ought to hold himself to a higher standard than that, rather than - as he has done before - trying to make something out to be a flop through sheer force of will.

Its actually a great way to get noticed online. Just say something negative about a show the entire internet is waiting for and you get a ton of traffic.

Personally the only thing Ill be comparing it to is the DD movie which I wasnt impressed by. So if its better than that Ill be pretty satisfied. Im not putting my expectations in the clouds I just want a solid, cool DD show that has room to get better with each season. Its not the comics, its live action TV, so theres bound to be some complaints. Hopefully not many.

For starters, there will be people who refuse to aknowledge you can love both Dc and Marvel who will bash the show. Then, you will have the trolls who will bash it because most people will love it.

Then you will have me, who will love it because it's awesome (I know, i'm doing the same as Faraci, only i'm on the positive side, but i'm not a profesional^^).

I wonder how the dude thought watching one episode was enough to write a review.. because clearly, it's not enough.

I think the smart thing to do is ya know watch the entire 13 episodes then review the show on those terms.

It wouldn't take you 13 episodes to grasp if the show was going to be good or not.

Pretty sure the press have seen 4 or 5 episodes. All the reviews will be based on that.

Episodes vary in quality in most cases. Every single episode of AOS isnt awesome. Thats my point on reviewing the show as a whole after you watch it. You can judge each episode too, but people will want to know if its a success overall or not. You cant watch 4 episodes and ignore the rest.

I'd imagine the reviews we get on Thursday after the embargo drops will just be based on the first four/five episodes, since that's what we've heard the press have seen. Some places will probably review again after seeing all thirteen episodes, but not all (just IGN etc)
