I know it's a long shot (or at least a long way down the road) but I would love to see something like Waid's run for at least a season. There's just so much fun in it.

The whole mask gives his face a completely different look to when he had the black Iron Fist bandana over his head.

After watching the action in the show again, the first 2 episodes are without a doubt the best directed. I just love the way the camera moves during the fights(in the fights of the first episode) and perfectly captures the intensity of it, I almost like those fights more than The Winter Soldier fights. The action is great throughout the show but in those 2 episodes is just outstanding.

probably the same way since dennis o'neil brought back the darker vibe to batman before miller anyway. just sayin'....

True. Also englehart, conway and the likes wrote a great dark but compassionate an d human batman.

A couple of blurry pics of Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. His hair is shorter than I imagined them going.

Hmm not sure about the hair length

Still, cool to see he's started filming

I'm more convinced I DON'T want the Netflix shows to crossover with the film universe. Dropping hints here and there is fine, but it's nice to have a break from a story that tries to connect to an infinity stone or some other world destroying threat. I like the MCU for what it is. But once DD shows up in the movies, it'll be hard to go back to telling an intimate story on a smaller scale. Look at Iron Man. The first movie was relatively small scale. And now every movie since has been "Why don't you call your super friends?"

First off, that only applies to the third one. The second one was before the Avengers. I thought the third one still did a good job of making it a personal story. Same with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This is something the comics have been dealing with for decades and I think they do it quite well.

Even if Daredevil were to team up with the movie heroes, it doesn't mean he has their numbers of speed dial and can call them whenever he wants. Besides, his problems are too small for the Avengers. Even if there were to be a crossover, I don't think it would ruin things (although I'm of the opinion that the Avengers should only appear in Daredevil if they recreate Born Again).

so i guess he's not wearing the skull t shirt in this show ?

I doubt he'd be in full Punisher attire in the daytime just standing around. I think he's just in Castle mode right now.

Yeah, he'd be asking to be arrested if he went out in the skull shirt in broad daylight

With Elektra it only makes sense for Bullseye to show up too. Plus there was that stuff they set up with Stick and The Hand they can toy with.

Well the Hand might the villains in the Defenders series.

Here is a good question, which DD B-list villains should appear in the series?

In the first season we got Kingpin, somewhat tonned down versions of Owl and Gladiator and the Hand (somewhat). I did like the focus on tight story telling and wouldn't want this show to follow the freak of the week formula, but there are some B-list villains that would fit in with a larger story in this show well?

I'd love Gladiator to appear some more. But, leaving him aside:
To me, Ann Nocenti created the best B-Villains (Miller elevated some previous ones to A-Villains, but didn't really create many new characters except the Hand, Brubaker also elevated a few, but they are corny ones like the Matador. I'd argue Bendis did the opposite and actually brought down some characters while making fun of others without elevating them). I suspect the season is crowded enough that any ones used will just be In Name Only as Easter Eggs to the fan (like the Masked Marauder in season one), but Bullet would be easy enough to adapt as a big strong guy and you have Ammo and the Wildboys as gang members. Moving away from early Nocenti, you could go with Shotgun as a guy who really loves military tech (and could sort of be an anti-Punisher in the military aspect of the story). Another example (one invented by Miller) would be Nuke. I'd prefer to save him for a Born Again adaptation, but he could be similar to Shotgun.

I didn't think we'd see Beranthal so early on set. Assuming they're filming these episodes chronologically, this may imply that Castle makes his entrance pretty early in season 2...maybe even during the premiere?

All the craziness leading to the end of Season 2 might have drawn him out.

Fisk is locked up, so all the scum would crawl out all over Hell's Kitchen which would definitely get Castle's attention.

It is possible Franks family might have only been recently killed and he could be gunning for the men personally responsible during this season.

I have a question for everyone. Where on the MCU timeline does this take place? I've heard two theories. The first is that it takes place after the First Avengers film. The second is that it takes place between the first and second seasons of Agents Of Shield?

I haven't watched DareDevil yet, but I would like to get an idea where it's place since I'm making my own MCU timeline that I'm comfortable with.

It in no way mentions Agents of SHIELD, so that's basically a moot point. It takes place when it was released, so after Avengers. Watching it in the middle of both seasons of SHIELD or after the second season won't affect anything.
