she dies in the first ten minutes of the first episode.

DeKnight says the only big time they were restricted in #Daredevil was using Night Nurse’s comic name (Linda Carter) due to movie plans.

If anywhere, it would be Dr. Strange. But I don't think Marvel necessarily has to have active plans to reserve a character for a movie.

What possible movie plans would they have for Linda Carter? If anything, it would seem more like they avoided it because of confusion with Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman).

If it was to avoid confusion it's more likely they did that for Agent Carter's sake.

It's nothing unusual if you've been following Agents of SHIELD. It doesn't mean they won't crossover (and, in fact, the movies have crossed over quite a bit with Agents of SHIELD, just not vice versa so far), it just means that movies want to control casting and creative decisions for certain characters. The TV side is consciously restricted to what the movies don't want.

Kevin Feige says he expects the TV side to eventually bleed back into the movie side. It just hasn't happened yet. Now he may just be saying the right thing because that's what his bosses want him to say, but that also suggests his bosses are interested in the idea.

I'm really hoping the relationship stays positive. I don't want the movies guys decide to destroy NYC and they're like "Ok, clean up the mess."

Marvel’s Netflix universe has already started to up the ante, having cast both Elektra and The Punisher for their next trip to Hell’s Kitchen, and based on what I’m hearing from the set of Daredevil, it looks like there’s going to be a pretty sizable jump in scale, at least when it comes to the action. Marvel’s getting stricter and stricter about leaks, so don’t expect to see set photos of costumes anytime soon, or photos of what I’m told is a police raid on an industrial facility, during which the cops open fire on someone running a roadblock. But it sounds pretty great!

this is a sad quote. this almost cements my belief that the movie verse and the netflix verse will never cross over.

It's more like in this shared universe the shows must always follow the movies and not vice-versa.

If there's the possibility of a marvel character being used in the movies it will always appear in the movies before the shows. Afterwards that character may then appear in the shows.

That being said, there are specific contractual provisions that require Charlie Cox to appear in movies if Marvel Studios so chooses.

Marvel's contracts are always far reaching.

However as in my theory I believe Marvel likes the idea of people being able to see their movies without having to have paid any attention to any of the shows to get any backstory.

The show is popular but nowhere near as many people will watch it as they do an avengers film. So a lot of viewers wouldn't really get him and be aware of his character developments if he just popped up in a film.

He may appear in a movie but I wouldn't hold my breath just yet.

I'd hardly call it sad. 1) Not really a "big name" at all and 2) it didn't really hurt Daredevil at all.

I'm worried about there "selectively" being multiple seasons. There is no reason why if the show does well, that they can't do more seasons.

I honestly feel like there are a good three seasons of Iron Fist and Daredevil at the very least.

I think they are only saying that as a safety net for themselves. If something doesn't perform as well as they hope, they can easily just say it was meant for one season. Something like Jessica Jones is a bit of a risk as she has no costume, she's virtually unknown to the general public and is the second female led Marvel property (Agent Carter being the first). It has a lot to get past but if it succeeds and gets the reviews/critical acclaim Daredevil did, I'm sure it'll get a second season.

This.

I remember when some people were adamant that DD wouldn't get a season 2 before the other shows and Defenders. :hehe:

nothing can ever be sad b/c we are still getting content. but the content does seem a little more "limited" than i would've liked but that's my issue :)

i don't think we'll ever see DD and spiderman in the same screen which bums me out. especially since imho, DD is the truest comic to video thing anybody has ever done.

not only that, but Jessica Jones and Luke Cage should sorta fold into each other considering they're each others love interests...

It wouldn't shock me if Jessica Jones is 1 season, and post defenders... She and Cage (maybe even Ironfist too) become one show, Heroes for Hire

Yeah but why when Iron Fist and Luke Cage alone both have a good number of enemies to mine? Heroes for Hire would just be Defenders without Daredevil. I feel like Defenders would be a miniseries which hits every 2-3 years and we'll see the street level heroes interact with each other in solo series.

well DD is more of a loner anyway... and no..... I do not think Cage and Jessica have that many worthy enemy's ....

Heroes For Hire though.. can bring in Black Cat, Cloak and Dagger, and a long list of other street level heroes to help or fight with
