I know the obvious difference between TV and movie and AoS looks like TV, sometimes not good TV either. DD was in New York so I don't see how it's sets good look worse, and in the inside locations are supposed to look cheap thats the whole plot of the show.

What do you mean by rivalling Gotham? You mean in quality?

overall quality. Gotham has good writing and character development-- objectively speaking. i wouldnt even be citing it as an example if it wasnt the same playing field.

maybe a better comparison in terms of filmic quality is Persons of Interest? i believe that series is shot in NY as well. not gonna discuss its storytelling quality because thats just gonna devolve into a discussion im not interested in pursuing at this time.

anyway yes, bigger budget usually means filmic quality goes up too. i know right now DD is very gritty and edgy and "tight" shots, which helps immensely in the tone of the story. but im sure that TeamDaredevil would love to have their expanded shots, fight sequences, settings, cast etc etc, which comes with bigger budget. this is standard stuff for Gotham, AoS and half a dozen other popular action tv series (POI, 24). again thats network money. from what i can tell, DD is breaking new ground in delivering quality content without having to rely on the dictates of network executives. so yes, the success of DD is more than just from a comicbook fan perspective. its a potential game changer for tv industry as a whole.

The one thing I would like to see is Daredevil operating during the day, rather than only at night - especially now we've seen that great costume.

Just finished it. Fantastic. Goddard & DeKnight nailed it. Cox is a terrific Matt but its D'Onofrio who steals the show as a brilliant Kingpin. Also, the red suit looks alot better on screen.

Anyone have any guesses on who Stick is working for?

Well we all have opinions on what we like. I really don't like Gotham, simple. So clearly I find it baffling when someone even compares the shows let alone says it might rival it in the future.

You obviously must really like Gotham.

We're not all going to agree on everything

But moving on from that and discussing the larger budget which I'm sure season 2 would have, what we you like to see it used on then?

You can't be objective about art it's the most subjective thing. If I think Daredevil is the best comic book adaption and Gotham isn't good then that's what I think. And you think I'm wrong. Which is your opinion.

You can tell me to look at objectively but how exactly would that work? What would i look at for it to be objective?

I just finished episode 4. Damn, this is getting tense and relentless. Kingpin stole the show. Might be the best Marvel villain yet (even better than Magneto).

I believe Game of Thrones has 6 million per episode, so 3 million is really good. Of course a lot of that would go towards just filming in New York since it's one of the most expensive places to film.

None of the superhero shows on TV can. And I know it's not fair to compare, because they don't have the budget, the rating and a completely different target audience. But I wish the other shows would at least try to be similar. Keep it at 13 Episodes instead of 20+. Trim all the unnecessary fat. No useless filler, no endless will they, won't they relationship drama. Just focus on telling a good story as best you can.

If this show had the same (terrible) writers that Gotham has, then that scene where the mob guys tell Matt's father to take a dive in the fight with Creel would have gone like this:

Mobster: Hey, Jack. How's your son?

Jack: That little devil is a pain in my ass! Haha just kidding. He's such a good, brave kid. He's going to grow up to be a man without fear!

Mobster: Good to hear. Anyway, we need you to go down in the fifth, Jack. But don't make it look too obvious. It should be okay, after all, Creel can ABSORB a lot of hits.

Also Gotham is pretty dire imo. THIS is how I would do a Batman show. Just swap the lawyer stuff for detective stuff.
