None of the superhero shows on TV can. And I know it's not fair to compare, because they don't have the budget, the rating and a completely different target audience. But I wish the other shows would at least try to be similar. Keep it at 13 Episodes instead of 20+. Trim all the unnecessary fat. No useless filler, no endless will they, won't they relationship drama. Just focus on telling a good story as best you can.

I think that was the major problem with Gotham, originally it was planned for 13 episodes and FOX loved it so much they made them do a full 23 episodes. You can tell when they had to just start pulling crap out of their ass on that show and stretching everything out so things didn't wrap up when they were supposed to and IMO it really brought down the show. DD having a clear, concise idea and endgame from the get go really benefited from it.

I really think American tv is starting to realise what British tv realised a long time ago. Shorter, tighter series are better. The only type of shows that should have 23 episodes in my opinion are heavily procedural like NCIS or sitcoms, shows where forward plot progression doesn't matter too much and it doesn't matter when episodes are too similar. Shows like Arrow or Gotham fall apart when they have to stretch the plot to 23 episodes.

I just did all 13 episodes full stop. Who needs sleep?

You can't be objective about art it's the most subjective thing. If I think Daredevil is the best comic book adaption and Gotham isn't good then that's what I think. And you think I'm wrong. Which is your opinion.

You can tell me to look at objectively but how exactly would that work? What would i look at for it to be objective?

Back away slowly, Ghost.

I agree with this. Even though we all get excited when a season picks upfor 23 episodes it really pressures the writers sometimes when it happens.

Your enjoyment of art is purely subjective. The actual quality of art can be objective even if it's hard to figure out a lot of the time. For example you might enjoy Sharknado more than Citizen Kane, but Citizen Kane is objectively a better film because it's better shot, better written and better acted.

AKA Jessica Jones has to come out before October/November Netflix is on a roll. Need real super hero tv fix

I believe Game of Thrones has 6 million per episode, so 3 million is really good. Of course a lot of that would go towards just filming in New York since it's one of the most expensive places to film.

that was just for the first thrones season. season 5 will be 8 mill per episode.

Someone needs to make and sell replicas of Daredevils glasses already. I want them.

Holy sh** I can't wait for the sun to go down so I continue watching. It's definitely in the top tier of stuff Marvel has its name on. Pure fanboy love.

Well swings and roundabouts I think Gotham is garbage and DD is the best comic book adaption, including films.

All those things you listed seem inconsequential, bigger sets, more sets, more characters, bigger fight sequences do not equal quality.

Not to mention none of them are needed. More settings? When the whole thing is about one neighborhood. More characters? When the all the characters they had were quality and interesting. Bigger/more fight sequences? When it's just one guy with his fists.

Daredevils (well for me anyway) budget fit it's premise and aim, I can't say the same for any of the other CBTVs.

Well I have watched just 2 episodes and I don't know if he does, but I would like to see Daredevil use grappling hooks and do some swinging, not like Spider-man but simple rudimentary swinging

I don't think there is any rope swinging but I love that they've incorporated parkour into the action sequences.

You know, that's funny you should bring that up. I finished watching the series last night and afterwards I put the old 2003 film in the Blu-ray just to watch and do some comparing. I was thinking about how great it was to see the parkour and more practical stunts for DD now than some of the obvious wire fu and CGI acrobatics of the 2003 film.

Like you though, I would love to see him use the grappling hook and do some swinging.

I'm sure he will evolve into like every other MCU character has done in every appearance.

I think after seeing how well they did with Kingpin here, I can't wait to see how f***ed up the Purple Man is going to be for Jessica Jones. If this show is any indication we are in for some dark ass stuff in that show

I'll never be able to look at Tennant's Dr. Who the same.

Regarding the Daredevil/Gotham comparisons...

If this show had the same (terrible) writers that Gotham has, then that scene where the mob guys tell Matt's father to take a dive in the fight with Creel would have gone like this:

Mobster: Hey, Jack. How's your son?

Jack: That little devil is a pain in my ass! Haha just kidding. He's such a good, brave kid. He's going to grow up to be a man without fear!

Mobster: Good to hear. Anyway, we need you to go down in the fifth, Jack. But don't make it look too obvious. It should be okay, after all, Creel can ABSORB a lot of hits.

:pal::pal: The dialogue on Gotham is terrible. I quit that show after a few episodes.
