I was trying to think of something she would actually work for and that one came to mind.

I wouldn't mind seeing the gladiator used in a DD movie as a minor character. A couple of the spidey villains likely to never appear in a film would work good for DD movies also. I could see the Rose used in DD, maybe Sin Eater, and even Mysterio possibly.

Part of the problem with a Daredevil reboot is that already the Elektra arc has been used in two films. A reboot, which might be based on The Man Without Fear, would act as a prequel, and retreading the main story would be redundant. I'd definitely love to see Born Again or Guardian Devil filmed though. Karen deserves her cinematic due.

ELEKTRA
It wasn’t Jennifer Garner’s performance of Elektra that I disliked so much as how she was written in the first place. The character in MSJ’s script could be considered a strong and somewhat complex female heroine, but it’s not the Elektra of the comics. His first mistake was probably throwing out her college relationship with Matt and opting instead for a more traditional “meet cute” (with a silly-ass fight thrown in). Maybe he decided the movie had enough flashbacks with young Matt’s origin story, and chose to move their first meeting to the present.

STICK
I was shocked when I learned that Stick wouldn’t be in the movie, and appalled when Terrence Stamp was cast as a Stick-like character also named “Stick” in the Elektra movie. That was one of those ballsy moves by MSJ that didn’t really work. Matt ought to have someone to teach him martial arts (especially after his Dad dies.) I suppose he wanted to speed up the origin story, or maybe he was tired of the mysterious miserly mentor who comes out of nowhere. If I was doing it, I would’ve had Stick in there, simply because I don’t think I would’ve had any reason to take him out.

Moon Bloodgood (Journeyman, DayBreak, Pathfinder) as Elektra

I like.

The first section in the film with Matt as a kid was pretty good, although the lack of Stick around to teach young Matt the arts was one of the film’s major missteps. That and that stupid Meet-Cute schoolyard fight (which doesn't even make sense now anyway; Elektra's had a different sensei every year, and Matt taught himself, so they're equally matched? Huh?).

Trying to include Matt's college relationship with Elektra would have been a good reason to save Elektra for the sequel, and focus the first film on Matt & Karen Page.

Somebody said that Daredevil has kind of a lame rogues gallery. Perhaps, but keep in mind that Daredevil used to have no rogues gallery at all, until Frank Miller came along and put guys like Kingpin and Bullseye on his case. If they made Daredevil into a TV series, I could see guys like Mr. Fear and Owl in there; not being a huge Daredevil reader myself, it's hard for me to see any of those guys carrying a film.

Matt has powers. I think that makes it fair. Matt's martial arts skill is based on pure instinct. Someone throws a punch, you dodge it. Think of it as the same way Bruce Lee developed Jeet Kune Do. Simplifying things.

...Don't know why I felt the need to explain that. It's just one of those things. It's why Daredevil will always be able to beat guys like Wolverine and Captain America. He can predict every movie. They're really lucky if they land a blow on him.

Yeah, that was a pretty cool cameo. The first movie had the right idea though. Just put that DD in the center of the chest instead.

i wouldnt do a direct reboot. id do it like INCREDIBLE HULK where you can take as a sequel if you want, but as a new series if you dont. have matt already daredevil, and have origin in flashbacks - elektra already dead and whatnot and just continue, but dont pull bullseye or kingpin into it... call it like, "DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN" or go TIH route with "DAREDEVIL, THE MAN WITHOUT FEAR" or something... imo

I concur with the requel route, so we don't retread the storyline of the previous films. Just a shame Daredevil will never get a fully-fledged origin story on film, as I really wanted to see Matt's journey after Jack was killed.

But maybe Marvel would be brave enough to just reboot it and we'd get an awesome origin film with lead-ins to sequels like Batman Begins or Superman I.

With female superheroes, I haven't seen a lot of cases where they look like they've jumped off the page and onto the screen. Mostly it seems like the studio ok'd some actress they were sure would make money.

Moon Bloodgood is 32. Jenn Garner turned 30 while shooting Daredevil.
Moon's also 5'10", just a bit over Garner's 5'9" frame.

If I got the opportunity to build a new Daredevil picture, I would write a long and good mystery, with a detective character. The detective in this case being Matt Murdock/ Daredevil.

My idea is, basically it would be just like Chinatown or Insomnia, only it just happens to have Daredevil in it. The film would NOT be a long commercial for it's soundtrack. And it would not have Elektra at all.

Daredevil would be fighting the Yakuza.

hopefully marvel can secure an early release for the DD/Elek rights.. heck, the dvds are already out.. no direct to video spinoffs in the works.. Fox, you already still have X-Men and Fantastic Four, be happy..

get Frank Miller to write the story.. and hey, if the Spirit is a hit, direct..

I like the look of Moon Bloodgood, but I'm not too certain of her acting ability as I've never seen her work. Elektra just needs to look exotic, which is something Garner didnt have. Garner looks like the girl next door.

i made a thread for this aswell since i thought Elektra deserved her own, at least i'd like to see a GOOD solo Elektra movie at some point anyway

ever since i've seen this pics(which i think are the best Elektra ones), i thought it looked a lot like Evangeline Lilly, so why not her to reboot Elektra? theres more pics by this artist somewhere but i couldn't find them. I've never seen her act is the only thing, so im just going off other posters opinions, and the majority here seem to think shes a decent actress
