DAREDEVIL REBOOT: How would you do it?

Thanks. Yeah, they should've went that route. The CGI was very unnecessary. There's really people out there that jump buildings to buildings, and other stuff like that. Should've gotten some guys like that to do the stunts. I agree with you 100%, Tyler.

i don't think its possible to reboot daredevil, what with Ben Arse Fleck screwing it up for any new actor.

daredevil is forever going to be associated with Ben Arse Fleck, the actor who cannot act, and is corny as hell.

The only way to reboot is to wait another 30 years.

Disagree. Does anyone even talk about Afleck as an actor anymore? I can't remember the last thing he did, apart from directing. Everyone knows he's a ham and I think the general public has already forgotten about Daredevil.

That's ridiculous. First of all, DD may not have been a huge success, but it still made over 100 million domestically and did not tank like Punisher did (which still got a sequel plus a new actor for the title role). Second, just because Ben Affleck (who has his share of good and bad movies) reprised as Daredevil doesn't mean he made it hard for the public to see other actor for the role. Even Superman, who was defined in the cinema by Christopher Reeve, has a new Man of Steel. And Christian Bale played the new Caped Crusader after just 8 short years after George Clooney did it in Batman & Robin.

I think once Marvel gets the license back from Fox, they should start figuring out how to make it work, like they are doing with Iron Man and Hulk. Call the movie Man Without Fear instead of Daredevil, get a serious actor a la Robert Downey Jr. to play Matt Murdock, and try to stay away from stupid CGI or anything that invites comparison with Spider-man, and it should be fine. They need to have this remake be more of a film noir type of superhero movie, and have capable actors and not just celebrities to give the film some gravita, and I believe it will succeed.

Btw, I do think Ben Affleck has redeemed himself with his new film. Like him or not, you have to admit that his first directorial effort is terrific, and worthy of praise.

If HULK can get a reboot, then DD can get one. The character is too major to just let go. I'm sure Marvel will tackle the project again at some point.

20th Century Fox or Ben Affleck is not interested in doing Daredevil 2. I say let Marvel Films do it let Paramount distribute it like they are doing with Iron-Man or do a live action tv series.

Whoa! Back up, bad idea.

an animated daredevil might be kinda lame. But why not re-boot daredevil, make it grittier.

What do you think about 'Daredevil: Yellow,' of course without yellow costume, as "starting point" for a new DD pic? Maybe with elements from 'Man Without Fear' and 'Born Again' - but no Elektra!

Directors?

- John McTiernan
- Richard Donner
- Doug Liman
- David Fincher

The problem I have with a reboot is, how do you not make it seem like a rehash of the first movie, what is he going to fight Bullseye, Kingpin and Elektra again?! The sequel left enough to work with for a sequel, some new turf, instead of rehashing the old, like Gang Wars or Born Again.

Personally, I still can't figure out exactly why the Daredevil movie was received so poorly by us fans. As far as the things I didn't like, I honestly don't think I could've done any better.

But most fans just don't feel that way, so in an effort to better understand the situation, I ask: HOW WOULD YOU DO IT?
In my opinion, they need to make it seem more realistic. I never really read the Daredevil comics but I know that he doesn't have super-powers and he can't simply jump off of buildings and land on the next building down without crushing himself or what-not. They need to create more struggle and character for Matt Murdock/Daredevil because in the film; the movie just kept going on and on and on. They need to make the villains feel more dark and gritty as well; if I was making Daredevil, I would have kept the Kingpin character behind a wall of shadows so you couldn't see his face so that the audience can have a little fear towards that particular character. They also need to make the villains a lot less goofy because in the film, it felt like a big, fat joke they were playing on each other all of the time. They kept making wise cracks which was really ennoying. I could understand that on account of other characters(like Foggy Nelson), but not the villains. That's really all they need to do to fix the Daredevil franchise; they need to add more realism to the film. And also, if it's possible; could the reboot PLEASE stay away from bad CGI sequences. It was unnessisary and un-needed. But it also has something to do with the realism. Like I explained before, don't have Daredevil do near impossible things like jump off of rooftops, etc.

Mr. Fear is too similar to scarecrow and how would stilit-man support a whole movie?
I like The Owl however(because he's really one of the only Daredevil villains I know of because I don't read too many comic-books). I think he's pretty intimidating and considering his rage towards Kingpin in the comics; the movie could have some sorta mob-war between the two of them, and Daredevil could be in the middle of that and try to stop it... I guess.

I just thought Mr. Fear because he has a cool look and I was joking about stilt man

I'd cast Ryan Gosling as Matt Murdock, and i will start the series with his origins. I'll make things darker, grittier, and more realistic.

Both great ideas.

Fans should be in charge of movies we have the best ideas
That's true. I wish directors had forums where you could post your ideas and if they're good enough then they'll be put in the movie. If I was ever a director, I'd let my audience make some of script for me because you make a movie for them, not for critics, celebreties, or even yourself; but you make it for your audience.
