Daredevil reboot: official discussion thread - Part 2

I hope that some animated movement can happen on DD sooner than later. Also a solo video game.

Ben Affleck said to MTV he got contacted about the Daredevil reboot and said it wouldn't be a reboot if he was involved.

Not sure what capacity he was referring to but I assume it was returning as Matt Murdock.

I wonder if he would give directing the reboot any serious consideration. With the buzz that Argo is getting, plus his previous films, they'd be lucky to have him.

I doubt he'd do Daredevil. In the same interview he said he'd like to do a comic book movie but it would have to be the right one and he'd want to do a unique and original take for it.

True, but he loves daredevil.

I'd pay to see an affleck directed daredevil. Hell, I didn't even dislike him as ole' hornhead.

He loves the comics he doesn't like the movie or the work he did.

6 days left to get a DD movie underway before 10 October 2012. If they hurry, Fox can make it.

If a reboot happens, do you guys think it should be set in the 60s?

There's no way in 6 days that Fox can reboot it and set it in the 60s. Not even really 6 days but about 5 1/2 now, unless they plan to start work at this hour.

Hey they can setup a camera phone and get a Daredevil halloween costume and start shooting it in the backyard.. PROBLEM SOLVED.. FOX is cheap and that the cheapest way to make a movie and we keep the rights WIN-WIN(not)!!!:rimshot:

Fox really need to get the film crew for 24 to work on this. They always seem to manage to get a lot accomplished even in an hour, and certainly a whole lot in just a day. Bring in Kiefer Sutherland as Murdock, Carlos Bernard as Foggy Nelson, Dennis Haybert as Kingpin, Arnold Vosloo as Bullseye, Elisha Cuthbert as Karen, Reiko Aylesworth as Elektra... who else can we get from that series?

They're all busy so get the kid down the street!! He'll look bigger behind the IPhone camera app.. :funny: They can do that in a hour

Fox- "We have to do this tonight"!!

Kid down the street- "I have to finish my homework first or my Mom will kill me"

Fox "Ughhh!! Gotta keep these rights from reverting..(sighs) Clocks tickin kid!! I'll pay you $10 when you get to my backyard. Thats the Fox budget for Marvel movies" LOL!!!

the idea of Kiefer Sutherland with Elisha Cuthbert is disgusting

I don't get the fascination with setting DD in the 60's or 70's.Now that Marvel is getting the rights back,I'm looking forward to having him interact with the MCU.

Still 4 more days for Fox to make their move. We could yet get a film out of them at the last hour.

I mean I put Fox above nothing, but in their Mark Millar press release, Daredevil was noticeably not in there.

That's because they have/are going to lose the rights, isn't it?

Shame, I would have liked to see Fox redeem themselves like they did with X-Men.

If they were smart they would get moving fast on The Owl before WB inevitably do the Penguin in Batman again, as mainstream audiences will probably see them as too similar.

Is Owl really interesting enough to be the Big Bad of a movie, he is not as interesting a crime boss as Kingpin is. I could only see Owl working in a gang war story, where he is fighting against the Kingpin, rather then trying to make him the central villain of a whole movie. I mean really, how many great Owl stories have there been?

I also think the San Fran years won't work well as the basis for a movie, because Conway only moved DD to San Fran as a marketing gimmick back in the 70s, there was no great plot reason why DD moved to San Fran, so there no reason plot reason to have DD move to San Fran at the beginning of a movie and have him move back at the end of the film.

Since there are only 4 days left, it's easier to just find a grey barn owl to stand in for the owl. It would be a hoot.
