I just remember during Batman Returns McDonalds had toys along with cups advertising the movie. I agree with the comment before that Venom is not kid friendly and he's getting advertised pretty heavily. If think about it Penguin (from Returns obviously) might have been the most un kid friendly villian anyone has ever seen and was stilled promoted. And now that I stop to think about it I remember seeing clips for Spiderman 3 last summer and it's about the same timeframe before this movie get released and we've gotten nothing.
One thing I will say is that Spiderman may have gone too far with this movie. After reading some reviews it sounds like most of the action scenes have already been spilled on one of the what seems like 10,000 trailers for the movie. I'm greatful that it seems like most of the plot will be hush hush (although it can be painful sometimes). WB definitly should do something to start pumping this movie even if it's just pictures in magazines. It will be a huge mistake if they take the approach of BB. If they were unsure of their product then, they have no reason to be now. It was a huge success and this movie should be treated as a slam dunk sure thing.
