Leaning on very cautious optimism. I'm not convinced Kinberg is going to hit me emotionally like previous entries have, but I also think he's going to work very hard to anchor this film with satisfying comic book action nonsense. I hope it'll be fun if nothing else, and that should leave it resting just above Apocalypse.

If they have proper costumes and team based fighting that I've always wanted + deemphasizing Mystique & Magneto and obviously now that Singer is gone (Hallejuah) I can see this being my personal favorite X-MEN movie.

This is abit early isn't it? maybe after the trailer when there is more to go on but at this point?

Right now, 3. But who knows, the trailer and stills could fool me.

As for the Rt rating, there's no way in Shiar Empire this would get a higher rating than Apocalypse and the Last Stand. We knew who was the REAL problem in the script of those films and with Kinberg doing both jobs as the sole writer and director, I don't see what improvement would this movie achieve, story wise.

My gut says its another BvS. A rushed "event" storyline in a misguided way to makeup for the previous disappointing movie. Kinberg like Snyder will lure us with some comic influences, but ultimately the film falls apart from bad writing, and on the flip side it will lack the (like him or not) strong visuals of a Snyder because its a first time director. The strong cast to me is no guarantee of anything, as BvS had a bunch of Oscar nominees and winners.

I hope it isn't though. X-Men on screen excites me regardless. I even find X3 watchable despite many decisions I hate.

I need to see more first. With what I have so far id say a 4 out of 10, but I need to see how they handle Storm and Nightcrawler or they choose once again to focus on Magneto and Mystique. Once I see the costumes, get a bit more info on the plot and see the first trailer I can give a definite answer.

If anything this will be more style than substance. But does he even have style? I just cannot wait for the cringy cheesey lines that he came up with. Then I'd be rolling my eyes with laughter.

Sad but true that whole Genosha thing really soured my spirits. He is a character I dont care about anymore so hearing about him dampens things lol. Im not overly dramatic though like some lol well not most of the time at least.

Ok im just saying if they wanted to tackle Mags and the Acolytes and not the Phoenix Saga that would've been better rather than squeezing this into an already packed movie and for it to go to a character whom has gotten enough spotlight already. Thats my issue with the announcement nothing should be distracting from the DPS.
I dont think the numbers will be that low, thats a reach. If so though it will be because of QUALITY and they all should be fired so we can get some fresh ideas or if not done right someone who can utilize them properly.

That's what happens to franchises when they reward people with questionable track record to write more films and even direct a movie. That's why Fant4stic, Tasm2 and The Mummy failed.

I am actually a bit modest with my predictions but I'd be aneye opener for everyone once a X-Men film can't even cross the $100 million mark domestically.

If FOX still aren't done with FF... you bet they ain't done with X-Men even if the movie flops and is blasted by fans and critics alike.

unlike those films though he is one to blame.

last stand was hit.and even then brett ratner never returned to series.he was in mix for origins at one time.ff scapegoat and main cause was josh Trank.

Hmm. Kinberg had X-Men as his fallback after F4 especially Dofp was well received. But he got the writing/directing duties for this one. If he survives, he'd stay as a producer. The only way he escapes this if Dp is a massive success at the box office.

These seem pretty reasonable. I expect very little from what looks to be a personal project from Simon Kinberg.

I know this is a prediction topic but in my opinion is so very early to even consider predict stuff. We don't even have the whole cast announced or even a teaser trailer. The best moment to predict stuff is after trailer 1 gets released.
