This movie would have zero buzz if the first movie was truly average.

People are excited because the first one was so impressive.

i still think that people are mixing up good character arc with good movie. everyone always praises Andy Serkis acting and Caesars story. i dont think i remember reading someone saying that the editing, directing and other human characters were good. :yay:

very low standard. the movie was directed so lazy.

That's actually what I think of all your opinions, DS. :o

Rise of the Planet of the Apes's CGI was good, but it wasn't robbed in 2011. Not at all.

Ah yes, because Hugo clearly deserved it more.

This teaser looks absolutely awesome (even if it seems just the comic-con footage). And love me some Gary Oldman, hopefully after the effective teaser he will not be wasted just like he was in TDKR...

No.

Exactly.

Caesar wasn't a human character. As for the editing and direction, those were just fine. Just because a particular aspect or character stands out doesn't mean the rest of the aspects of the film don't hold up/aren't good. That's just fallacious.

Since when did having a different opinion than you constitute having a lower standard? Are you dense?

The teaser has a very "zombie" type feel to it.

Since it's the dawn of the planet of the apes, I don't think Oldman and other human's will get a happy ending.

It's not supposed to be happy. Basically extremists on both sides are probably going to **** something up causing a massive rift where the apes are dominant and humans are the lowest points on the ladder. Caesar probably won't be evil, but something will cause him to lose what little faith he has in both sides getting along.

Well being there is one more movie (trilogy?) I doubt humans will be completely wiped out by the end of Dawn.

Maybe put in camps or enslaved.

Unless you're rooting for the apes, which I generally do. :D

If you like 'em so much why don't you marry one? :cmad:

I'm rooting for the humans as of now. We'll see what I think during the movie though.

I haven't caught most of the original sequels but I believe we're always supposed to root for the humans pretty much?

Isn't the whole arc for the Apes how they become these totalitarian rulers who do nothing but persecute humans?

Rise did seem a little unique in that you did seem to root for the apes more so than the humans.

In the original series, it sort of switches to 'root for the apes' from the third one on.

Both human and ape had flawed societies for similar reasons.

But your supposed to root for the underdog in each scenario while acknowledging those flaws.

The last three Escape, Conquest and Battle you're rooting for the apes. Humans are the jerks.

Rise was basically a loose remake of Conquest and Dawn seems to be a loose remake of Battle.
