Dawn of the Planet of the Apes

Nice to finally get a release date. And I love the official title. Sounds very grandiose and haunting at the same time.

But the "Planet of the Apes" prefix is a huge part of the franchise. Everybody is aware that the titles are convoluted and silly but that's part of the charm! Personally I'm weak for these kind of cheesy serial-esque titles and it also works as a throwback to the original sequels.

I always thought that Rise of the Planet of the Apes had a very "Twilight Zone" kind of feel to it, so the long, cheesy title is appropriate.

James Franco will finally revert to his ape form in the 3rd film.

Which is exactly why I like the film so much. The original film had this kind of feeling around it, particularly the ending, which is appropriate given Rod Serling's involvement.

Awesome title, hope Franco comes back as well as Serkis just to give a bit of closure to his character, cant wait, if Apes and First Class 2 both live up to their first movies and improve on them, we will have 2 great movies in 2014.

I suspect Franco's character gets killed via one of the more "evil" apes during this franchise, prompting Caesar to become one of the amiable apes that is against treating the future humans like cattle.

I think they should start off the movie about 5 years later. That way its enough time for the virus to kill off most humans. They could have Franco's character still around developing treatments for the virus trying to save as many humans as he can. But he's losing the fight. More and more humans keep dying off and more and more Apes keep being born that are smarter and smarter. This will allow for some good battles between humans and apes while we can still fight back. But at some point Koba figures out that its Franco who is keeping humans alive and searches for Franco and kills him. Against Ceasars commands. This will start a rift between the Apes with Ceasar as the nice version of apes who only want to live in peace. And Koba who wants to kill all humans and enslave them.

Do you guys think the ICARUS should return to earth in this trilogy?

I hope the different apes political groupings start to form.

The oppressive enforcer gorillas, the cautious rationalist orangatangs, and the compassionate hopefull chimps.

Or at least get the ball rolling for the third film.

Rothman's ghost lingers.

I can't believe Wyatt would just walk away after what he built with the first film.

I mean I can imagine the race against the clock with the first film was very tiring but it came out very well. It would be a damn shame to see him go just due to the date for this one though.

But this one has more than a year and a half to go. That's not unlimited time but its not like May of 2013.

I understand why Gary Ross left Catching Fire. What I don't understand is how Wytt left this when the film is coming out in May 2014. Espcially if Ed been attached since last year.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Wyatt can't leave after what he started.

He probably will, though. ****.

There's always some underlying reason. Personal **** he might have going on.

He cheated on his wife with one of the apes. :o

"Apes 2: The Day the Earth Stood Still"

"The Caesar Imperative (not to be confused with the Roman, Julius Caesar)"

there it is
