So are all the apes going to be speaking by this point? Is 15 years too soon to have a full ape civilization emerge?

He's going to be the leader of the humans.

No you di'int...

this is going to be so good, so is he the lead role besides Serkis? or is it Serkis and Clarke in the lead roles?

15 years on, the serum modified apes would have started to give birth to intelligent children. Keep in mind also that its a spreadable virus. While it kills humans it has a different effect on apes, so it is possible that it has spread to other ape populations, either on purpose or by accident.

Old men :hrt:

I think this casting is great. I really enjoyed RotPotA or however its acronymed. And Gary Oldman is one of my favourite actors so I'll definitely be seeing this.

So does this mean Oldman is going to play the bad guy?

Or is the human resistance going to be shown in a positive light?

So...Oldman.

In other words...this movie went from sounding awesome to.....$%^&(@$&!@(&!!!!!!!! I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED!!

I think the whole resistence will have some morally grey areas to it and Oldman could be apart of that.

I don't think the resistence will be portrayed as pure bad guys.In the last few years Oldman has been trying to get away from always being cast as pure bad guy. That's part of why he took role of gordon and was part of harry potter franchise.

Usually Hollywood blockbusters avoid morally ambiguous characters.

I have a feeling the human resistance will be divided into doves and hawks with Oldman being in the hawk group.

I can't imagine Oldman playing the nice guy trying to make peace with Caesar. He's just alot more effective at playing evil.

i actually didn't know that, he was pretty much type cast as a villain but that stopped when he was cast as Black in Harry Potter.

Rise was surprsingly good, great even. So naturally I'm interested in the sequel. But the switch of director really dampened my spirits. I didn't really like either Cloverfield or Let Me In (huge fan of both the book and the Swedish film version). Hopefully Reeves can surprise me in a positive way, just like Rise did. At least the cast is looking strong so far.
