DC Animated - Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

LOL

Well I figure Batman has a body armour around his costume..the best modern technology money can buy.

That is why..he can keep up with his superhuman opponents and comrades:yay:

Plus he has trained his body to peak human perfection and is suppose to be in peak human condition.

Along with his mastery of all martial arts...he can survive against any Doomsday Clones...hahaha:cwink:

I'm sure this was mentioned before, but the only thing I had a problem with this film was the confrontation with Darkseid and Batman.
If I was Darkseid and Bats told me he'd level the planet to save his friends I'd laugh in his face!!! Your Batman you don't kill anybody!!!!!!
Now if this was golden age Batman things may be different. "With a mighty heave!"

Batman had took the armor from darkseids goons it protects him.
In the comic he mentions it. Internal monologues would really add to this movie. It was lacking the back story and insight to the characters.

Yeah but atleast Netflixing would have given some sort of Number to Warner Bros, you guys say you want more projects and such but when you DL these things you do nothing but hinder the possibility that we will get other ones. Different Ones.

I completely forgot about the extras on the blu ray. The short, and the extra jl episodes they put on it. I guess I will netflix it after all.

great flick, was really happy with this one.

they gotta start putting some weight behind wonder woman... the last few movies have made her excessively cool.

I wanted to like this. I really did. It was just too inconsistent and random. That, and the level of writing made me feel like I was watching KRYPTO: THE SUPERDOG.

The TV/radio intro just...it just sucks. No TV/radio person in the world (short of maybe Paul Harvey) talks that slowly.

These DC movies sure do like Batman to be pulled around on his grapple, don't they?

Not digging the titles. Tired of watching DC try to be Pixar.

"Hey. Check it out. A naked woman". Really? It's always nice to see homages to 80's superhero movies, but....really?

I neve really thought of Superman's flying as falling up. And Spider-Girl too.

Didn't think Conroy's Batman voice fit Turner's design. Ditto Daly's Clark/Superman voice. Wonder Woman looked and sounded good. Alternatively loved and couldn't stand Summer Glau's Supergirl. Not a great performance. Could she be worse at dramatic statements? "That awful. Blistering. Light." She sounds like a 9 year old half the time.

The Batcomputer sure does make a lot of noise, doesn't it?

You know what was totally neccessary? The two minute "Fury Tryout" sequence.

Apparently Kara was on Paradise Island for two months.

The Doomsday fight is kind of cool.

I like how even though a Boomtube just opened...they need the vision of Darkseid to figure out what is going on.

After that, other than a few decent action sequences, I more or less stopped caring about this story. It has its moments, sure. There are a few nice character moments, and the action is pretty good. It's just too uneven and inconsistent in its execution.

And the worst thing about this movie...Andre Braugher, though he admittedly has a few decent moments, ultimately just makes a horrible, horrible Darkseid. He's just not remotely dark and deep enough, and half the time sounds like he's literally just reading lines.

It seemed obvious to me what he did in the movie, didnt need internal monologue for that part.

Well I did see Spectre and Jonah Hex...and they are good...Even when they are extended...I still can't see it beating my top 7.
Green Arrow and Shazam may blow my mind....and it could jump to my top 4.

But I think it'll just be too short for me to even rate it above Wonder Woman.
But I do know for sure it'll beat Doomsday "MAYBE" and Gotham Knight "DEFINITELY". LOL

:cwink:

i never saw gotham knight had no idea it was linked to batman begins and tdk. gonna have to check it out.

It takes place between the movies.

Haven't seen it but heard its very, "meh"...

If you like Anime and Batman, its basically Anime + Batman, some of the stories are really weird, but I enjoyed most of them

Watching Gotham Knight:

There are 6 interlocking stories.

If you skip the first story and just watch the remaining 5 stories then this movie is good.

The first one with the kids is really bad and took alot of air out of this movie.

But if you skip it...you will enjoy this movie as a Batman fan.

You can watch the first story after you seen the last 5. The movie just lost alot of momentum making it the first story which has nothing to do with the whole movie as a whole.

The first story is about 3 kids talking about their exagerrated experiences seeing Batman in action.

The episode on the New Batman Animated Adventures is a better verion of this story.

Also the Anime art on the first story was the worst.

Thanks for info, netflixn it, should be in tomorrow

I thought this move was better than what we usually get i was really disappointed by the ending though lots of good action though

Didn't enjoy it. Which is pretty consistent with all the others I've seen. I'd really like to see Timm put his time back into television.

And the voice of Darkseid just didn't work, but it's kind of hard to take a step back once you've had someone perfect as Ironside play him.

He is. He's going to be in charge of the new Green Lantern animated series.

So, I just watched it. They introduce Harbinger. Leads me to wonder if a Crisis movie is far off.
