DC ELSEWORLDS: Reimagining Keaton Sequels & DC Films that Never Were

That's how I see it in this sequel. Darkseid travels back in time to take out on overwhelm the younger, more vulnerable, the teen versions of Clark, Bruce, Diana, and the rest of the group, but he also wants to level earth .

It's basically the Terminator franchise concept of destroying the savior in the past so you can excel in the future, though, in this case, Darkseid has decided to bring a whole future army to kill the yet to be JLA members and to decimate the planet ,as opposed to just sending one guy as he did with Steppenwolf. I imagine him basically unleashing everything in terms of his fleet and his creatures .

It's a bitter revenge for being thwarted by the future JLA several times in his timeline, so ,I see it in his mind, as a long time coming type of revenge. Reverse Flash has a similar motivation in the CW Flash show, in that, he's been beaten so many times by the Future Flash, that he gets great satisfaction to defeat the younger and more inexperienced Flash.

As for arrow, I guess it's a bit like the Hawkeye issue in the Avengers films, though ,even more so in this case ,since he's basically a Green Arrow in training, and I see him being like 21 or 22 at this point.

I see young Bruce enlisting his help because he trusts him, and because The Flash has told him he's one of the future members of the Justice League .

Plus, they'll need all the help they can get. I see him basically fighting Parademons on the ground level on the chaotic city streets as opposed to taking on one of one of Darkseid's massive ships are his larger beasts.

It's gonna be an even greater challenge since in this story, the young heroes are each at different parts of the earth when the invasion happens, and they have to reconnect in the midst of this carnage.

It's also compounded by the fact that while Barry was able to warn the group about Steppenwolf in time to stop him, Barry's now stuck in the early 1990s, and doesn't know that Darkseid will bring a full army to the early 90s.

So, our young heroes, and the world are in real pickle, so to speak .
You have thought this out so well :)

BATMAN AND SUPERMAN CROSSROADS (2010)
Director : Christopher Nolan
Producer: Charles Roven
Script : David Goyer and Paul Haggis
Music: Hans Zimmer

Story: Set several months after the events Dark Knight, Bruce Wayne is lost. Gotham is still reeling from the events set in motion by the Joker but Batman is helpless intervene. The Batman is wanted for the murder of Harvey Dent and several others , yet the Gotham Police can't find him. Batman, has disappeared without a trace. He's cut off all contact with James Gordon knowing that Gordon is under the strict eye of Internal Affairs. Struggling with the lost of his one true love Rachel Dawes, Billionaire Bruce Wayne has been seen less and less making the rounds of Gotham High Society. In boardroom meetings he seems even less engaged and even more distracted than before. He spends most of his evenings locked inside his fancy Penthouse apartment overlooking Gotham and just sits with his thoughts and his regrets.

When Lucius Fox informs Bruce about Wayne Enterprises intention on scouting locations in Smallville Kansas to build a Wayne Enterprise research facility in association with Star Labs , Bruce , at Alfred's urging, decides to leave Gotham and spend a couple of weeks in Smallville. Not only will it give Bruce a chance to get his mind off of Rachel, but he also knows Smallville is the hometown of a great man he once met and became friends with two years earlier, Clark Kent. Alfred decides to accompany Bruce on the trip feeling it would be good for Bruce to have him there with him.

In Smallville, Clark Kent, like Bruce, is also going through his own emotional loss. A few months after the death of his son turned villain by Brainiac, a depressed Clark Kent returns to the Kent Family farm alone to sort out his thoughts. Much like when he returned from his long absence , Clark is dealing with alot of different emotions, from sadness to regret to a lingering feeling of powerlessness. He still suits up as Superman when there's danger, but afterwards , he returns to the Kent family farm where Martha resides.

While back in Smallville , Clark has reconnected to his first love Lana Lang, who never left the small town. She still loves him, but knows his heart is with Lois Lane and that he's still grieving the loss of Jason. Once Bruce arrives at the Kent farm Clark happily greets him and insists that Bruce stays on the Kent farm during his trip so that the two of them can catch up. Bruce asks Clark if he still trusts him after the death of DA Harvey Dent. Clark tells him he knows Bruce, and he knows Bruce didn't kill Harvey or those people. With that, Clark welcomes Bruce and Alfred to stay at the Kent Homestead.

While Alfred is taken aback by the farming life a bit , Alfred and Martha strike up a friendship with both parents sharing a few things in common. When Bruce is not scouting potential locations for a Wayne Enterprise /Star Labs building, he's doing farm chores with Clark, going to the Smallville square, meets Lana Lang, and the two men are commiserate about their predicaments. They both end up finding some solace in each other's company.

However, as Clark , Bruce, and Lana continue to spend time together two threats from two cities descend on Smallville each with their own objective. John Corban, who had been mortally wounded and presumed dead at the end of the events of Batman and Superman has returned a changed man. Now, implanted with cybernetic arms and legs , in addition to a chest plate which contains Kryptonite , he's become known in the international underworld as Metallo. He's laid in waiting for two years for revenge with the knowledge of both Batman and Superman's identities.

Intergang, feeling Metallo has become more and more unstable orders Metallo to leave Batman and Superman alone. Metallo refuses. Acting against the wishes of Intergang , he takes off after The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel. Now that he knows both heroes are in Smallville and both are at their weakest emotionally and in some respects, physically, he wants them both to suffer, and eventually kill them, and he wants to use Superman's friend Emil Hamilton and Clark's old flame Lana Lang to do it. However, Metallo's plan runs into a roadblock from an equally powerful opponet known as Mr Freeze.

Mr Freeze has also come to Smallville, but not for revenge on Batman, but because time is running out on his wife Nora who's been frozen in cryogenic chamber. Freeze has discovered that Lana Lang's genetic make up and an experimental medical procedure involving Kryptonite, may be the only way of saving Nora, and Emil Hamilton is the only doctor and scientist who can perform this experiment with the use of equipment exclusive to Star Labs. At the same time, Freeze knows that Metallo is powered in large part by Kryptonite, which is scarce , and which has put Metallo directly in his line of sight.

The Intergang organization, knowing that Mr Freeze is searching for Kryptonite throws Metallo to the wolves and gives up his location in exchange for wiping out Metallo for his disobedience . Freeze without hesitation takes the information on Metallo he needs and actively seeks him out. Freeze has come too far to save his wife, and he will allow no one, whether it be Batman, Superman, or even Metallo to stand in his way.

So, with Lana Lang the key to saving Nora's life and the target of Metallo''s quest for vengeance, she finds herself in a deadly tug of war between two supervillains. Now, a hero in mourning will have to fight to save his old flame from an enemy who's armed with his only weakness, and another hero who's nearly broken will have to face a villain who , in many ways, is the emotional mirror to him.

Batman and Superman find themselves at a crossroads in a battle which will take them from the streets of Smallville Kansas, to a Star Labs facility on the outskirts of Metropolis.

Great work as always! :)

One thought here, I think you should place the description of the pics above them, not below. It will make it easier.

I don't have much time to remain in this thread right now. It's that old project I mentioned a while ago. It's up and going in this forum by now. Drop by if you want to, sometime. :)

The prince of this thread leaves, and the king (you) reimains :)

I probably should start saving them given this thread will be closed and history sooner or later.:funny:

That's a good idea. At the very least, I'll save the story/plot summaries , though I'm gonna have to figure out how to save them from the board to my hard drive.

Thanks for the suggestion Airwings.

The public is outraged ,and The FBI wants the pulps taken out once and for all. Our heroes are now public enemy number one with not only the law enforcement, but the underworld after them.

It's clear they've been set up, but who would want Tracy dead, and who would want his former friends to take the fall for it? To solve this mystery, the Old pros enlist the help of a young, mysterious, vigilante known as The Batman, to uncover who could be behind Tracy's murder, and who could be behind the conspiracy to discredit and take out The Pulps for good.

I experimented a while and got it. Thanks.:yay:

I don't think the thread will be closed anytime soon, but I'm just operating on the assumption that eventually it may run its course and fade like alot of threads on the board do.
You should also save all your casts and directors. They're masterpieces.
I think you feel strongly for all of them, and in your mind you wish you could have seen these films for real (just as I do with mine). Even if it's from the 1940s and would feel very dated.

We have created something big here, the two of us. A couple of others have contributed with their own visions, but we have lead the way.
In the end, everybody dropped off except us.

People in general don't like what if scenarios. It could be that they don't care because they are satisfied with what happened.
Or that it's difficult to process an alternate history (for most people).
That's an explanation to why we don't get a lot of praise from everybody else.

Your acchievements here was enough to earn you a place in the final list of nominations for best superhero poster. Not a single soul except me mentioned you for that. :(

JUSTICE LEAGUE PULP: AGE OF THE SUPERMEN
Director : Steven Spielberg
Story: Set in the Mid 1950s, the pulp's have reached the twilight of there careers and have become middle aged men. In the world of Television, Spacemen, and Rock and Roll, the pulps feel out of touch in this new world. The Phantom is considering handing the mantle down to the next generation. Britt Reid is getting too old to fight criminals night after night as The Green Hornet and is seriously injured in a battle with a younger and stronger opponent , and The Shadow contemplates his relavance and has entered a midlife crisis in the dawn of a new breed of hero : The Supermen.

These Superheroes, can summon the powers of gods such as Shazam!. Some can move faster than the speed of light like Jay Garrick aka The Flash. One is a master of disguise, intellegance, and stamana known as Doc Savage, and one above all of them, is able to leap tall buildings at a single bound . He's been dubbed The Superman. These Supermen don't work in the shadows, but instead operate in broad daylight, and are inspirations who've captured the public imagination.

However, once a mad scientist named Lex Luthor plans on unleashing his giant robots on New York City, the Pulps enter into the fray one last time to help the new breed of heroes and bring justice the man who plans to unleash evil on the city of Manhattan !

This one, I like!!!!!!

The background story is very good, it also makes sense.

Imagine having The Phantom fighting alongside Superman and The Flash

Thanks for your kind words Airwings.

I'm gonna save those casts as well.

You and I are basically the only ones driving the thread at this point. I agree that alot of people aren't really into the "What if" type scenarios and castings, and I think you analysis is accurate as to why the topic may not be on fire with others on the board. But I find the topic interesting and I'm really glad BobJM started the thread. It really allows your imagination and creativity to go wild with all different types of stories and casts.

While I may feel there are near perfect Batman or Superman films out there, I also find it fun to come up with alternate films in alternate film Histories and in alternate contexts .

Given that it took a long time for Hollywood to really appreciate and exploit all of these properties , I think it's intriguing to come up with an alternate histories in which these characters were taken seriously from the jump, and were exploited to there full potential as far back as the 1940s.

It's certainly different than debating the merits of what we have in reality and comparing and contrasting real films. Alot of fans prefer to do that than to come up with What if scenarios.

But at the same time, I've done alot of comparing and contrasting cbm's on this board already, and at this point, I find it more fun to come up with new stories and casts for films which could have been.

Thanks! I also like it as well. I like the contrast between the Noir ,Pulp heroes of the 30s and 40s feeling older and out of step with these , bright, inspirational , superheroes of the 1950s.

I'm intrigued by the idea of guys who fought crime in the world of radio, Gangsters, and Nazis, now having to adjust to the age of Television, Rock and Roll , Science Fiction , and larger than life characters like The Flash, Superman and Shazam.

I see the first film as being like a movie serial from 1943, really playing up the WW2 setting.

I see the second film being very much a late 40s Noir murder mystery along the lines of LA confidential, Double Indemnity , Body heat, etc. complete with the frame up, various suspects, and the femme fatale.

I see the third film as very much like the sci-fi atomic age films of the 1950s complete with Giant Robots and a mad scientist.

I'm with you fully on this. It drives me a lot. I would have wanted to see every vision I've posted here.
Maybe in other universes, these films exist. :)
Shall we go around the multiverse and collect them?

It's so great with wild imagination.
That's why I've even started a new project, and that's a very big one.
I only got two other people writing replies so far. The majority must think I'm a wacko. LOL

It has taken a lot of time and effort, and might help me with something even bigger: creating my own comic book world.

Just in case, I save backups of every post in case the thread gets deleted. Then I will be back here :)

Phantom doesn't need to be that far behind superheroes. Not anymore than Batman or Green Arrow :)
I think Kit Walker can be a real badass with the right writer.
He's like Black Panther without a vibranium suit.

It's time to let the world see that. Give him a modern film

I love your picks for production art for Aquaman.
It's spot on.
You should try your hand in the movie business with these ideas. Hey you never know.
I do like what was done in the Aquaman '18 movie for Atlantis, but yours are right there equal to it.
If I was Marvel, I would take a serious look at your ideas for when/if they bring Namor into the MCU.

Thanks Peyton!
I was trying hard not to find images which were like the 2018 film but were still consistent with the Aquaman world. It wasn't easy ,so I'm glad you liked them.

SMALLVILLE HIGH 2: HOME GAME (1987)
Director: John Hughes
Story: Clark Kent's Junior year is even more complicated than his Sophomore year at Smallville High School. Aside from juggling his homework, football practice, and farm work, Clark's love life has gotten more interesting. His longtime school crush Lana, has broken up with his High School bully and nemesis Brad, but has now gotten closer to the moody, bad boy outcast Lex, which has put a strain on Clark and Lex's friendship.

In the meanwhile, a beautiful, tall, and athletic foreign exchange student name Diana , is spending a semester in Smallville, and the Kents have taken her in to stay at the Kent Farm for the Spring semester. Despite Pete's attempts at wooing her, the tall beauty appears more drawn to Clark, and Clark discovers for the first time, there are more fish in the sea than just Lana Lang. As Clark and Diana begin to fall for each other, Lana begins to see Clark as more than just the "goofy farm boy", and jealousy begins to creep in. Yet, with all this love in the air, and the stunning Diana becoming the talk of Smallville high, The Kents feel there's more to her than meets the eye. Diana is hiding something.

On top of Clark's love troubles, his Football coach has suddenly begun riding him, and has taken a sudden interest in the young Kent. Once his Coach reveals that he knows Clark is an alien ,and that he is an alien as well ,the two begin to form a bond. Little does Clark know that his Coach is actually human. However, he's been possessed by an Alien known as Brainiac who has a long history with Clark's father Jor El. Brainiac is intent on eventually taking over the young Kent and using him for his larger plans of world domination. Ultimately, All of Clark's troubles will come to a head on the night of the final game of the season with the Smallville team defending themselves against an out of town opposing team led by one of the most feared players in the Metropolis Rudy Jones!

All the while, Lex continues down a dark path as his wealthy, domineering, father, comes to Smallville and threatens to disown Lex if he doesn't "shape up" and become the Luthor he is meant to be.

There was a TV series but it was bad, really bad.
Kit ditched the classic suit for some biker armor in that.

The Zane film is decent, but it could have been so much better.
Weird but cool that he goes "Green Lantern" towards the end. His ring is magical :)

Peyton is right. You have an eye for designs

In your last two posts, I dig your Batcave, the inspiration for Batmobile and the look of Krypton. Holy s**t, that world must have been amazing :)

Thank you very much:yay:

For the Batcave, I wanted to go for a version that was more sparse in terms of equipment , computers etc.

In terms of Krypton, I wanted to go bright, shiny, futuristic city, route to make it more distinct from the Ice / Crystal city of the Donner films and the more organic look of the Snyder version.

I think these concept cities really help emphasize the idea of krypton as a civilization at the height of its technology. And I agree, it makes Krypton look like an amazing place to live.
