DC Relaunching Everything? - Part 3

Er... why? How is Dick operating as a Batman, Inc.-sanctioned Nightwing in Gotham any different from Nightrunner as Batman, Inc.'s agent in France or Knight as Batman, Inc.'s agent in England or El Gaucho operating as Batman, Inc.'s agent in Argentina? People know Batman's around more than ever through his agents. Nightwing is one of them. What's the problem?

The problem is they took all this time to develop Dick and put him in the spotlight and then they are just taking it away. The story was already running with him as Batman and what all of a sudden he just decides "I;m going to stop being Batman and go back to Nightwing"! If the story started out with him as Nightwing, sure no problem, but it didn't.

Dick was more than willing to get back to Nightwing in Batman & Robin #16 and with Morrison deciding to continue Batman with his next big idea they decided to keep Dick and Damian, but post Batman Incorporated #10 conclusion something major happens so i'd wait and see really.

Who knows.

What we can only hope is that they'll explain just what the **** happened to all the characters within their first arc, and not drag it out for 2+ years like some of the OYL stuff.

I just hope it isn't that Dick makes some mistake and decides he's not worthy or something.

I'd be glad if it were something as simple as Batman being global now and Gotham not needing the overt symbol of "a Batman" to keep things in line anymore, so Dick reverts to his much more comfortable role as Nightwing in response to that. Perfectly reasonable.

I wouldn't worry on that Kuro, after all Mr. Unknown is stopping being Batman too. I think Bruce himself will freak out about Leviathan that causes him to... Well heck it does barely make sense why Batman Incorporated is suddenly only okay to have 1 man dressed up as a original Batman, but maybe Morrison has a good reasoning, maybe another "the cowl is cursed" thing.

Yep that wouldn't bother me if that's why Dick decides to go back to being Nightwing

I will like him no matter what costume he is wearing

Agreed that would completely suck :down

I prefer him as Nightwing, personally. Yes, he earned his place s Batman, but at the end of the day that's Bruce's gig and Dick already has his own niche that he's carved out for himself as Nightwing.

I've been saying that for a pretty long time myself. It was not a popular opinion not too long, I'll say :o

There's also the final issue of Batman (I can't remember what number, I'm not reading it at the moment) where the solicit seems to imply it will revolve around the issue of Dick's tenure as Batman and why he'll step down and return to being Nightwing.

Yep and he was always going to go back to being Nightwing eventually. I am just glad they are not going to kill him off when he stops being Batman

I'm sure it's been mentioned already, but just looking at the costume design in that new artwork has got me thinking. What if Batgirl's new costume is mechanical in some way? What if Barbara Gordon is still paralysed, and it's the suit that gives her motion?

I think, just generally speaking, most of the redesigns look like that to some degree or another. Just kind of the style of it all. It's a decent theory. I think others were speculating that it's actually Babs' avatar in the new VR thing introduced in Inc. that she was basically put in charge of, since that stuff is still apparently in canon.

Both of those ideas are pretty good actually  I like the idea of it being a VR avatar so she can still show off all the skills she used when she was Oracle

But her using a mecha suit to walk and fight crime also sounds pretty fab. Mecha Batgirl

So did i  I thought he was a great Batman but i like him as Nightwing too

I just like Dick

...

Dick Grayson you filthy minded people :o

i thought that it is actually pretty obvious how the stories are going to end.

with flashpoint, someone (possibly reverse flash) actually went to the past and changed everything such that none of the heroes exist. so flash needs to go back to the past and change everything. he'll bring superman back to smallville to grow up with the kents, wonder woman and aquaman never attempted to get married, they formed justice league and since cyborg played a major role in this world, he is upgraded to the justice league.

since flash went back in time, how better to make use of the opportunity to save barbara gordon from being paralyzed and bruce wayne from dying.

since bruce wayne never died theres no space for 2 bats in gotham so dick went back to being nightwing and possibly start his own career and legacy as nightwing

flashpoint actually sounds really predictable. lol

wait.....WW and Aquaman got married?? to each other??!! :wow:

oh, and if Flash can go back in time, why didn't he stop Bruce's parents from getting killed?

i meant they never attempted to get married.

haha bruce himself said that he didnt mind to get killed instead of bruce, beside if bruce's parents never died, we'll never get a batman

On Nightwing : I feel that not having Tomasi write this new series is a missed opportunity. This guy Kyle Higgins has written what exactly? That's right, jack ****. I know I jerk off about Tomasi alot but if theres one character the guy writes above and beyond the rest it's Dick Grayson.

Although Higgins handling both the Deathstroke and Nightwing books could be cool if they don't erase the fact that Deathstroke is basically Nightwings nemesis. Some cool 2parter-crossover's could come out of it.

Jonah Hex is now going to ride into Gotham in the 1880s when he ties up his horse. He will be hired as a bounty hunter by the citizens of Gotham to hunt down a killer. This is premise of the first Jonah Hex story in All Star Western.
