The relaunch starts tomorrow, right? Cool, I'm gonna get...

*checks release schedule*

...to wait another week before I buy anything.

I just hate that I have to stay off the net until 2 or i'll be spoiled. :wow:

Saw Lee and Johns at Midtown comics today, forgot they were supposed to be there. Didn't saw anything to them because while I like Johns, I don't like Lee, and I'd have nothing to say to them.

You should've walked up to them and announced that you're not buying Justice League #1. Even if you were.

I wasn't. No Martian, no money. :o

Though my friend and I were debating on pitching our abolitionist Batman idea to them.

Years ago, I made a thread discussing who was more resourceful, Batman or Huck Finn. Discussion led to compare who freed the most slaves. From that, the idea of Civil War era Bruce Wayne freeing slaves came about.

I wouldn't wanna say anything to them, even though I'm a fan.

Anything I would say would probably just come off as asskissery.

I thought of three things to say to them. One was Abolitionist Batman, another was telling Jim Lee that I don't like his art, and the third was basically "WHY ISN'T THE MARTIAN MANHUNTER ON THE LEAGUE!?"

So the Batman Beyond issues are getting relaunched already? Or are they just saying it's a new #1 but still connected to the previous mini-series that came out?

You should've phrased the second thus: Walk up to Mr. Lee, drop to your knees, and cry, "SSSSEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAMMSSSS?!!!?!?!" Then get up, dust off your pants, and walk out.

It's still connected.

So when can we buy this digital Justice League? It's past midnight on the east coast and CST. I wanna buy a legit digital for once.

:hal: :hal: :hal:

Comixology usually releases their Wednesday Comics at like 1PM EST.

Strike that. Comixology's site says 2PM eastern for JL #1.

I just finished reading both Flashpoint and JL. The latter is an extremely quick read for a $3.99 issue. I really enjoyed the ending of Flashpoint, though.

just got back from my shop's midnight release of Flashpoint and Justice League. I didn't read Flashpoint, but Justice League was largely "meh".

They go heavy on the Jim Lee splash pages, don't they?

there are about 3 of 'em, yeah. One showcasing Batman, one for GL, and one for Supes.

From the review I just read, I'm not particularly surprised. I knew it wasn't going to be an immediate introduction to the League, or a very good self-contained issue. It's going to be one of those stories that require reading the entire arc to really get full enjoyment out of it.

yeah, not a whole lot happened. just a bunch of set up and character establishment. But if you've picked up a comic book in the past 10 years, you don't really need the character stuff. It wasn't a bad issue per se, but probably the whole arc is needed to see the pay off.

Yea, my comic shop also had a midnight release for Flashpoint #5. That was meh, but I didn't read the first 4 issues. But even so, it felt lazy. Some giant floating head that, apparently, never made an appearance before this issue says that the three timelines need to be merged together. Were these three timelines mentioned previously? Otherwise, I didn't care about the issue at all. I only bought it for 2 reasons. 1: to be entered into a raffle my comic shop was having. I lost. and 2. Project Superman #3 implied **** was gonna get real in Flashpoint #5. It didn't. Which made those 3 issues pretty meaningless to me.

Justice League was also meh. Nothing really happens, and only reaffirms why I don't give a crap about Jim Lee's artwork. All flash, no substance. And it reaffirms why I don't really care for Geoff Johns. His writing doesn't do it for me, but I'll probably give Aquaman #1 a shot. And as someone who is hardly a casual fan of Green Lantern (I've only read the early Hal Jordon appearances from the 50's), I don't recall Hal being that much of a nitwit. I mean, i know he's not a totally serious character, but he was kind of obnoxious in this book, which is also a reason I didn't like the movie. Hal, at least in his earlier appearances, was a bit more straight laced. Whatever. I'll probably give it another issue(Batman and Superman beating the piss out of each other...::sighs:: why?) before dropping it. If the first issue of the DCNU can't kick my ass and suck me in, I'm not paying 4 bucks for what should have been a great comic. Atleast next week we get Action Comics#1, which will hopefully kick some butt.

A scene like that would most likely get posted on the internet and go viral.:awesome::hehe:
