DC to "Rebirth" in June - Part 1

I would have thought Titans would have been included in this too, since Wally and the Titans were the first to really try to figure out the lost 10 years.

BTW what's Dark Days/Nights? Is that related to Metal?
Dark Days are two one-shots to be released in June and July. They'll set up Dark Nights: Metal in August.

Also, could this be where we see the return of Tim Drake?

They said the only essentials are DC Rebirth #1 and The Button tho. Could be wrong, but thats what the article said.

I'm interested to read the Superman reborn trade. BTW what's Dark Days/Nights? Is that related to Metal?

DC Rebirth #1 is like the absolute bare minimum. What about someone that isn't familiar with the Watchmen? Or someone that's out of the loop and doesn't know Barry rebooted the timeline with Flashpoint. Sure you can ignore these details, but they make the Rebirth story that much richer.

Dark Days/Nights are the lead up to the Metal event. Seems like it will be important in shedding light on how far reaching the effects of Dr. Manhattan's tampering has been.

Well Titans is semi-important if you want the FULL Rebirth story. They all drop hints, clues, foreshadowing. But you can skim through it or skip it.

Personally, I hope when this is all said and done Rebirth is sold in omnibus volumes. It's been a crazy ride and some of the best storytelling in comics in decades perhaps (collectively speaking) have happened in this one year stretch.

Thats true. As someone familiar with Watchmen and Flashpoint maybe I undererstimate it...but they are great stories and well worth the read so :oldrazz:

Anyway thanks BLK and Geetard for the explanation.

Read the full Johns interview and I'm glad to hear the story doesn't involve Doomsday. Obviously the title and promo image point to Watchmen, but I was afraid there could've been a bit of double entendre going on there.

Super pumped for [blackout]Superman/Manhattan[/blackout] interaction, though.

I still can't get into the JL comic. It's so bad.

BUT!

Aquaman, Batman, Superman, Supersons, The Flash and Teen Titans were awesome.

Now onto Trinity!

The finale of the Button was the best of the whole arc.

Even though i spoiled Black Dawn a week ago, Superman was still very good.

I didn't like Justice League initially either, but I'm enjoying it more as it goes on. It's no Geoff Johns Justice League, but it's decent.

Anyone else shocked when
Lois had her leg lopped off.

Totally didn't see that coming.

I hope it gets better for me because I really don't want to drop it.

I thought the conclusion to The Button was alright. It's really just four issues of set-up so I found myself asking more questions than what we were getting answers to. So I doubt this needed to be 4 issues. But seeing
Jay Garrick
was awesome and I'm excited to see where he comes back.

That said, Batman #23 was great. I'd really like to see Tom King tackle Swamp Thing again because he hasn't been written that well in a veeeeeery long time.

"The Button" was really, really interesting, and I really enjoyed all four issues. Having said that, in the end it felt like just a setup for "The Doomsday Clock." Hopefully that story ties everything together into one excellent story.

Also:
Red Robin
is on the lenticular cover. But how does he incorporate into the larger story?

Co-signed. The various old storylines that are in play are being fused efficiently. Also..

I was pleasantly surprised to watch DC abandon Batman's plot armor and let him take a logical beatdown from Reverse Flash. The way that part of the story was handled was very dramatic.

Yeah, thats why it was so surprising...it came completely out of nowhere.
I dont see however what kind of purpose it is supposed to serve and if it was really neccessary...but then i dont think every little thing needs to have a reason, sometimes things happen.

It was really surprisingly enjoyable i have to say...i liked the dynamic between them.

I gotta take my hat off to Geoff Johns. This guy is a genius story teller the way he plants seeds that are seemingly unrelated, but totally are.

At the conclusion of Darksied War Darkseid is killed and reborn, because evil can not truly die. The New 52 ends. Let that sink in for a bit.

Now we got DCU Rebirth where the emphasis is on "Hope an Optimism". This is going on while Darkseid is an infant and at his weakest...

I'm pretty sure he has the next 15 years worth of DC events planned out ahead of time.

I only just picked up last week's books from my shop today (late, I know). Of all the moments presented, Jessica cracking Guy across the noggin was hilarious and Dr. Manhattan at the end of Flash made me squeal with joy! I seriously hope we don't have to wait until November though before we return to the Watchmen angle.

Getting closer to Doomsday Clock, I'm really curious to see who Mr. Oz turns out to be. Ozymandias is the obvious suspect, but after the other Clark turned out to be [blackout]Mxy[/blackout], of all characters, I feel like a bait-and-switch is afoot.

After the other Clark turned out to not be [blackout]Superman/boy Prime[/blackout], I saw a theory that he may be Oz.

:hehe: Can't wait to read Green Lanterns in trade.

Anybody reading Batman Beyond?

Quite the ending. But I should've guessed in the future
Damien becomes Ras Al Ghul

I've been reading Batman Beyond and enjoying it quite a bit, but I'm very anxious for them to get back to the [BLACKOUT]"Return of The Joker"[/BLACKOUT] storyline.

Enjoyed the Injustice 2 issue today and Teen Titans!

So did the Lazarus Contract piss anyone else off ? I'm not gonna post any spoilers but geez!!! I think I can safely say these things without spoiling it

1. OG Wally and Damian's characterization. It was a huge disservice to the characters and their fans . Damian was a little prick when he was first introduced but I think he has managed to grow as a character and become way more likeable . OG Wally coming back was what Flash fans have been wanting since the New 52 came about . He carried the flash legacy on his shoulders for years , he is fun , relatable , and for many people he is The Flash .

2. Basically just used the Judas Contract angle to sell this book

3. Nightwing , Robin, Wally , and NuWally were basically the only characters with anything to do . The rest of the Titans and Teen Titans were wallpaper

4. Few plot holes that made zero ... zero sense

5. Disrespect to OG Wally .... felt that needed saying again
