Surprised not a lot of talk about the Batman/Flash "button" storyline.

It has been awesome so far. Really clever storytelling that shows just how well-planned DC's Rebirth has been.

There isnt much to go by is there?
The whole
Watchmen"
story unwraps very slowly from what i gather.

Batman 21? didnt tell us that much more about it all.
Havent read Flash 21...but i have been spoiled by something that happens in there.

It is unraveling slowly. Which is fine, it build the suspense well. I just wish the issues were a little more even throughout.

Batman 21 was cool, but it could have been half the length that it was. The whole issue was basically one long scene. A very cool scene, but it didn't really move plot forward until the very last page.

Flash 21 gave us more meat, but again didn't actively progress the plot until the last page or two. And I hate that it leaned so heavily on the Flash: Rebirth retcons to Barry's origin that suck.

Plus, both issues have shown us things we've already seen. The [blackout] Saturn Girl and Johnny Thunder [/blackout] parts added absolutely nothing new to when we saw them last. It was a waste of issue real estate.

I'm just barely paying attention to what is going on with Rebirth, and the button storyline has popped in my feed now. I couldn't help but feel embarrassed by Batman's reactions to seeing past events whilst on the cosmic treadmill.

When DC dug up it's old rich history for Infinite Crisis, it was pretty cool. It was cool seeing the reintroduction of Flash of two worlds, Krona's hand, Psycho Pirate coming back, all that was cool to see unfold. Now seeing them drag all the old major multiverse scenes YET AGAIN is kind of sad.

Who else is enjoying Super Sons? I knew I was going to love it after reading the two-parter in Superman, In the Name of the Father. Damian and John are a classic superhero Odd Couple.

Super Sons is a treat. It's simply the best Rebirth has to offer

Its incredible good, it has a great dynamic with Damian and Jon.
Really one of my favorite rebirth series so far.

The most recent issue wasnt as good as the rest, but that didnt kill this book for me. Its in my top 5 of Rebirth.

DC signs Viktor Bogdanovic (New Super-Man) as exclusive. He'll be working on Action Comics next.

And Stjepan Šejić has been tweeting some of his artwork for Aquaman. Time for me to pick up the book.

Deathstroke has been good, but I never could have guessed Eisner good. Funny, this is the same writer people had issue with when he wrote Black Panther (Which I liked).

Batman 22 was amazing :ilv: Really enjoyed Aquaman and Superman as well. Lets see what JL has to offer.

The feels.

Green Lanterns was really good this week too. If you're a long time fan you start taking things for granted, but seeing the the size, scope, and wonder of space from J-Bird's eyes for the first time. Baz and Kilowog trading war stories and jokes. It was good stuff.

Supes was good too. Black Dawn has this HP Lovecraft vibe to it. I'm really digging it. It's disturbing in a good way which is not something you'd expect to hear from a Superman book which is why this makes Rebirth so awesome.

Overall, I'd say it was another great week for DC comics.

DC's Rebirth is just the right mixture of balance in delivery the way New 52 sucked at.

I mean Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Flash & Green Lantern have been awesome titles that just blow me away lately. So glad were back to the core of these characters. Sometimes revamps are good but other times if it ain't broke don't fix it dammit.

UGH. Tears running down my face :csad:

I should start reading GL. I've heard good things about it.

The payoff in Deathstroke #22. My God. The flashback cuts between the bear in the first issue and Slade allowing Jericho to beat the crap out of him. The 6 or so subplots of the entire run culimniating in a total crash of Slade's world.

It was beautiful. You kind of feel bad for the guy even though he instigated most of the situation. Everyone hates him because he's pushed them all away on purpose.

10/10

I've been a critic of King's Batman for probably the past 20 issues (liked issue 1 and then frustrated). This issue was singularly the finest I've read since I don't know when. It had emotion I hadn't felt since the ending to Flashpoint. And the next page was just as strong.

We Rise!

Man, today's Button issue really illustrates how messed up Bruce is. His greatest gift ever was a letter from his dead father, but Bruce has a son, Damian. Thomas tells Bruce that he is his greatest gift. I wonder if with some soul searching Bruce will realize that he has to let go of his parents and to an extent Batman to be a better father to his son.
Damn... right in the ****ing feels man.

I doubt he can [BLACKOUT]ever leave Batman behind,[/BLACKOUT] but he can be a better Batman. In my view, Bruce's Batman is about so much more than his parents now.

Yeah, for sure. I'm not saying he should quit, but Bruce Wayne, the man, has other responsibilities now. Responsibilities he's been neglecting because of a promise he made to his dead parents. I feel like Thomas is telling him to be the man and not the cowl.

Or maybe [BLACKOUT]Manhattan is manuvering **** around to make Bruce quit being Batman and therefore making the Justice League weaker. Think about it. Supes was split in half. Wonder Woman's life has been a lie. Now we got Thomas telling Bruce to quit. [/BLACKOUT]

Goddamn Rebirth is just too good.

Batman #22 and Superman #22 were both great this week. Can't wait for Flash's next issue.
