Out of all studios time warner surely has the best and most diverse catalogue right?
Well for me, the big draw was the comics. I've been waiting for DC's equivalent of Marvel Unlimited forever now. Sadly, it seems this STILL is not gonna give me that. If it was their entire comics archive, tv shows (both animated and live-action) and movies, past and current, THEN I'd feel like DC's content was worth a solo streaming subscription at the price of Hulu/Netflix or whatever.Makes sense. Even as a big DC fan I can't see how it will work by itself as people already own the best DC films and I don't think there are enough DC TV shows to justify a monthly fee, unless it's close to zero. Throw in all WB films and shows and then you're on to something.
It's the cost of Hulu on the lowest end. They would inevitably be raising the base price if the entire archive was available, more expensive than Marvel Unlimited + another sub service combined, no question...which at that point would be understandable to just throw in some WB library.Well for me, the big draw was the comics. Except the appeal of Hulu, Netflix, etc. over this is that they offer content from multiple studios/brands, whereas this offers one brand. So they should not be at the same level from a pricing standpoint. As I said, if they offered their full collection, then I'd think differently. But as of right now, a service only offering access to select DC media is not worth the same as the services offering significantly more content from across the spectrum. If it were a place that I could count on for any DC media I wanted to watch/read when I want to watch/read it, then I'd feel that would compensate for the singular brand/narrow focus aspect. But it looks like an ever-rotating roster of "whatever we feel like sharing with you this month," which isn't enough for me.It's the cost of Hulu on the lowest end. It’s pretty ballsy that they didn’t put their entire library (comics, tv, and movies) on there
Not gonna lie, it’s kinda disappointing. But I’ve already pre ordered. Still, there will be plenty on there to keep me happy
Yeah, I get that, but that shouldn't be an issue with the comics. I don't see any reason for not putting all those up a la Marvel Unlimited beyond "we don't want to." Like, if they delayed new release comics like MU, that's fine. But they're just choosing to do a rotating roster of select titles, so it's not about what I want to read, it's about what they want me to read.As far as Tv/Movies I have to think that it is just a matter that they contractually cant. CW shows are exclusive to Netflix and some of the movies are probably sold to other services where they arent allowed to put them in direct competition.
Oh yeah I totally agree. As far as comics go they should all be on there instead of rotating out.Yeah, I get that, but that shouldn't be an issue with the comics. Bruh, Man of Steel got made to avoid legal tape. You think some family member of some writer with unresolved beef with DC ain't gonna come out of the woodwork to get a slice of the pie or at the very least get credit. It took 75 years for Bill Finger to get creditWhat kind of legal tape would there be to cut through? They own all of their characters and of course the older comics would be a product of their times.

Weird, my friend just told me about this app yesterday. He uses it mainly for movies. We're in Washington DC, so it's not just Texas.I just downloaded an app called Hoopla, powered by my local library system. Don’t know if it works anywhere other than Texas, but there’s a ton of both DC and Marvel comics to read for free. I just downloaded the Alan Moore Whatever Happened collection on my phone.
